Lindsey Vonn strives to improve on 'solid weekend' at St. Moritz as 2026 Winter Olympics preparations continue - 'I'm very hungry, I'm starving!'

Lindsey Vonn is "very hungry" to improve on her performance, which saw her finish outside the podium spots in Sunday's super-G in St. Moritz, Switzerland. The 41-year-old settled for fourth place, while Alice Robinson claimed the victory. "I have a lot to improve upon next weekend," she said, where she will compete at Courchevel, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.

New Zealand's Alice Robinson claimed victory with a time of 1:14.84, with 41-year-old Vonn 0.27 seconds off the pace. Romane Miradoli finished second and Sofia Goggia wrapped up the podium spots.

Vonn claimed an emotional World Cup win on Friday - her first since 2018 - as she put down a blistering time to win the downhill on what she described as a "solid weekend".

"I think I’m a little disappointed in myself, I didn’t ski the way I have been in training and I think I gave too much respect for the course in some places," Vonn explained after her super-G run on Sunday.

"I can ski a lot cleaner and more dynamic, and I just didn’t do that today.

"Overall, yesterday and today was just a little bit tired, after the win, it was so emotional and I found it hard to really get my energy up in the start again, but I think all in all, it’s been a very solid weekend.

"I’m really happy, I have a lot to improve upon next weekend, but nothing that I don’t think I can achieve.

"I always like leaving a place hungry, and I’m very hungry, I’m starving!"

Reflecting further on her super-G performance, Vonn added: "I think it was easier in some sections and harder in others.

"I think the speeds were hard to gauge. On inspection, I thought some sections were really fast and they were actually really slow. No one thought the jump was going to go 40 meters!

"It was definitely interesting, I had a good start number and I should have been able to execute better than I did and I just didn't, so that is my fault.

"You need to ski well to be on the podium. I need to ski better!"

Vonn also spoke of Robinson following the 24-year-old's victory on Sunday.

"She's been skiing really well," Vonn said. "I've been telling her for years that she's a great technical skier and I just told her in speed you have to go straighter, turn less!

"She's finally put it all together and I'm not surprised at all. She's just such a great turner, technically so clean, and she's been dominating GS."

Next up for Vonn is a couple of days' rest before she turns her attention to Courchevel in France, where she will aim for an 84th win of her amazing career.
