Biniam Girmay has joined NSN Cycling following his departure from Intermarche–Wanty. The Eritrean star became the first Black African rider to win a Grand Tour stage at the Giro d'Italia in 2022. He also won three stages and the points classification at the 2024 Tour de France during an impressive spell with his previous team. Girmay says joining NSN Cycling was best for his future in the sport.

Biniam Girmay has joined NSN Cycling on a three-year deal following his departure from Intermarche–Wanty.
The 25-year-old won three stages and the points classification at the 2024 Tour de France, having previously become the first Black African rider to win a Grand Tour stage at the 2022 Giro d'Italia.
His contract with Intermarche–Wanty was reportedly set to run until 2028, but he has been allowed to leave to join NSN Cycling.
NSN Cycling were previously known as Israel-Premier Tech, until a name change and rebranding last month.
NSN Cycling manager Kjell Carlstrom believes that 2026 will mark a new chapter for the team and for Girmay.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome Biniam to the NSN Cycling," he said. "2026 will not only mark a new chapter for the team, but also for Biniam, and I can’t imagine a better time to begin this new stage together.

The Eritrean star joined his previous team, Intermarche–Wanty, after being released by Delko in early 2021.
He believes that becoming a member of NSN Cycling is what is best for his future in the sport.
"I’m really happy to be here, especially with a new atmosphere and a new beginning, for me and for the team," said Girmay.
"As a rider, I always like to have a good environment, especially inside the team, and I have already heard a lot of positive things from my new team-mates.
"When I look back at the last two years of the team, the team has improved so much. There is a really good team spirit.

"Looking at the team’s sprint train, they were always really strong, especially how they stayed together and motivated each other.
"I heard them many times during races, motivating each other so much, so I’m really looking forward to working together.
"I see a great opportunity with NSN Cycling, and I feel that this is the best thing for my future."
