Tom Pidcock 'frustrated' with performance in sixth stage of Tirreno-Adriatico - 'I could have done more'

Tom Pidcock finished sixth in the general classification, second in the points classification and third in the mountains classification of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2025. However, the 25-year-old British rider believes he could have done better in Italy after settling for second place behind Spain's Juan Ayuso in the sixth stage of the race. He will now look ahead to next Saturday's Milan-San Remo.

Tom Pidcock (Q36.5) insists he could have done better after failing to win the Queen Stage of Tirreno-Adriatico 2025.
The 25-year-old British rider had to settle for sixth place in the general classification after finishing behind Spain's Juan Ayuso in the sixth stage of the race in Italy.
Ayuso's victory helped him finish top of the general classification ahead of Italian duo Filippo Ganna and Antonio Tiberi.
Despite a second-placed finish, Pidcock wishes he could have won the stage for his team.
"It would have been better to beat him," Pidcock told cyclingnews.com.
"I'm a bit frustrated with myself, which is the worst feeling to come away from a race.

"The team worked super hard today, and so I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't finish it off for them.
"I think this is my best performance on a climb like this, but I think I could have done more.
"It's always difficult to pace yourself on a climb like this but I think my red zone was a little higher than I thought. I should have closed the gap to him."

Pidcock finished second in the points classification and third in the mountains classification after the seventh and final stage on Sunday.
The Brit will now compete at next Saturday's Milan-San Remo before taking a break to prepare for the Giro d'Italia in May.
"I've got holidays to plan," he joked. "I'm ready for a break but I think I've had a successful start to the season. I can be happy.
"I came into Tirreno a bit tired after Strade Bianche but I'm feeling better and better every day.
"After the rainy days, it's nice to open up a little bit and start feeling a bit fast again.
"It will definitely be important to stay healthy for Milan-San Remo."
