Florian Lipowitz misses bullseye with his bottle throw at Tour de France - 'They're all rubbish, these riders'

Florian Lipowitz may be brilliant at riding a bike, but the German showed that his aim is somewhat off during Stage 12 of the Tour de France on the run from Neveres Magny-Cours Circuit to Chalon-Sur-Saone on Thursday afternoon.

Lipowitz threw a bottle at a piece of cardboard showing a bullseye on the side of the road. But the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe rider was not all that close with his effort.
And he could not resist addressing the inaccurate throw when speaking into a roadside camera.
"That's why I stopped with biathlon," Lipowitz said, much to the amusement of the TNT Sports commentary team of Matt Stephens and Brian Smith.
"Oh he nearly got 10 points there, did Florian Lipowitz," Stephens said. "He aimed for the bullseye. Not a bad shot."
"I don't think anyone has hit the target from what I've seen," said Smith.
"They're all rubbish, these bike riders."

It is often the quirky moments that steal the headlines. On Wednesday, race leader and favourite Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) revealed the moment that could have changed the entire race.
The danger came at full speed, with Pogacar explaining the consequences could have been devastating.
"The day was all about staying safe, and there was this moment in which I ran over a loose bottle with my front wheel, and almost crashed," said Pogacar.

"I completely s*** my pants there. I already saw myself hitting the ground. Luckily, I managed to keep my handlebars upright, so all good in the end.
"It’s nice to have days like this, but you still have to keep your focus throughout the stage."
Belgium's Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step) came out on top in stage 12, claiming his third win of this year's race.
