Newcastle United were among the teams to progress through to the fourth round of the Adobe Women's FA Cup on a high-scoring weekend in the competition. Southampton struck double-figures, while Burnley found the net seven times. Ipswich Town, Bournemouth and Birmingham all enjoyed big wins. There were goals aplenty across the Adobe Women's FA Cup third round on Sunday as Newcastle United progressed with a 4-0 victory over Liverpool Feds.

Ipswich Town, Southampton, Sheffield United and Burnley were also among the teams to advance to the fourth round on Sunday, joining Saturday's winners Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle opened the scoring in their clash against Liverpool Feds in the 20th minute, when Shania Hayles broke through the defence and found the back of the net with a slotted effort.

The Burton-born forward added a second a few minutes before the break, latching onto former Arsenal star Jordan Nobbs' corner to head home from close range.

Emily Muprhy added a third on the stroke of half-time with a diving header, before Jasmine McQuade added gloss to the scoreline when she tucked the ball away from a tight angle for 4-0.

It was a comfortable victory for Newcastle, but Southampton trumped them for goals, as seven scorers put 10 past lower-league side Royston Town, who were reduced to 10 players in the first half.

Seven of those goals came in the opening 45 minutes, as Atlanta Primus netted a first-half hat-trick, while Jess Simpson, Mary Bashford, Michaela McAlonie and Ellie Brazil were also on the scoresheet.

Ellie Hack netted her first goal for the club in the second half, before Aimee Palmer and McAlonie scored the ninth and 10th goals, respectively.

It was also goals galore at Burnley, who defeated Peterborough United 7-0, and the goals were also shared around the team with six different scorers, while Claudia Walker grabbed a brace.

There were also big-hitting results for Ipswich Town and Bournemouth, who both won 5-0, while Birmingham City put six past Sporting Khalsa.

Sheffield United, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion were also among the teams to earn the chance to reach the fifth round.

Crystal Palace were also in action on Sunday, as they visited Lewes - live on TNT Sports and discovery+. and emerged with a 1-0 win courtesy of a goal from My Cato.
