Bayern Munich want to give Jamal Musiala a new contract after interest from Arsenal and Manchester City, while David Datro Fofana is set to join AEK Athens from Chelsea – initially on loan. Elsewhere, Newcastle could return with another offer for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, and Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has doubts about his future.

Bayern plan to keep Musiala
Amid interest from both Manchester City and Arsenal, Bayern Munich are hoping to keep Jamal Musiala.
The Evening Standard reports that the Germans plan to give a new contract to the exciting forward.
The paper writes: “Bayern Munich are confident Jamal Musiala will soon sign a new contract with the club.
“The German international has entered the final two years of his deal with the German giants and has recently been linked with a host of top European sides, including Manchester City and Arsenal.
“Born in Stuttgart, Musiala joined Bayern’s academy from Chelsea in 2020 after a year with Southampton, having moved to England at the age of seven.”
Despite the links with a move away, Bayern president Herbert Hainer is confident of keeping the 21-year-old long-term.
Fofana set for Greek switch
The Independent believes that Chelsea forward David Datro Fofana will join AEK Athens on loan.
The player could then be sold for £20 million if the Greek side want to make the deal permanent.
The paper reports: “David Datro Fofana is set to leave Chelsea after agreeing terms with AEK Athens.
“The deal will be a loan initially, with the Greek club possessing an option to complete a permanent transfer for £20m next summer.
“The move is subject to final paperwork being signed between the clubs.
“The transfer window is shut in England but Greek clubs can sign players until Wednesday, allowing the Blues to trim their squad further amid unrest internally between the owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake.
“After paying Norwegian club Molde £8.4m for the Ivory Coast forward in 2023, Chelsea look set to part ways with the player and could secure a profit should he impress enough this term.”
Newcastle consider fresh Guehi offer
Marc Guehi remains a target for Newcastle United, with Paul Mitchell and Eddie Howe working together once more.
The Sun notes that the pair are ready to look at the Crystal Palace defender in future transfer windows.
The paper claims: “Paul Mitchell and Eddie Howe have called a truce and will finalise Toon’s January spending plans together.
“SunSport reported how Newcastle chief exec Darren Eales was backing manager Howe amid his differences with sporting director Mitchell over transfer business.
“It led to doubts that the latter would continue in the role — just two months after taking up the position.
“The lack of new signings — especially the long-and-public failed pursuit of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi — had left Howe frustrated.
“But Mitchell blamed his predecessor for the club’s “not fit for purpose” recruitment set-up as speculation intensified over his relationship with the boss.
“One of the big decisions will be whether to reignite their interest in 24-year-old Guehi.”
Lunin’s Real doubts
While Andriy Lunin has signed fresh terms at Real Madrid to potentially stay until 2028, The Athletic reports he had doubts over his future.
The Ukrainian is concerned that he lacks the opportunity to usurp Thibaut Courtois when the Belgian is fit.
The website explains: “Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
“Madrid and Lunin reached a verbal agreement over a new deal before the end of last season.
“However, the 25-year-old had doubts about extending his stay at the Spanish club due to Courtois’ importance and the lack of playing time he might receive as a result.”
