Red Bull Salzburg have announced the permanent signing of Bobby Clark from Liverpool, who will reunite with former Reds coach Pepijn Lijnders.
The talented England Under-20 international has put pen to paper on a long-term deal at the Austrian club, where he is contracted until 2029.
Clark, 19, has joined Salzburg for a reported £10 million and has been issued the No. 10 shirt.
In a post on social media, the teenager paid homage to his time on Merseyside following his switch from Newcastle United’s academy in 2021.
“After an incredible three years at Liverpool FC, I’ve decided it’s time for a new challenge,” Clark said.
“I’ve learned so much during my time at the club and [I] am very thankful for the opportunities and experiences I’ve had. Thank you to all the fans who supported me on this journey.”
Speaking to Salzburg’s website following his transfer, Clark added: “I am pleased to be taking this step in my career, and I can hardly wait to get out onto the pitch with my new teammates.
“It is the perfect move to the perfect club for me. I saw at Liverpool the kind of players that are developed in Salzburg like Sadio Mane and Dominik Szoboszlai, and they were a big inspiration for me.
“Everyone knows how great the prospects are for young players here. I also know Pep Lijnders from Liverpool, of course, and the fact he is the coach here influenced my decision.”

Clark joined Liverpool’s youth set-up following his arrival from Newcastle before making his first-team debut as a substitute in a 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth in 2022.
He went on to make 14 appearances for Liverpool and featured in the Reds’ Carabao Cup final victory against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

Clark’s only goal for the club came in a 6-1 UEFA Europa League win against Sparta Prague at Anfield last season.
He will join up with former Liverpool coach Lijnders, who left alongside legendary manager Jurgen Klopp at the end of the 2023/24 campaign before becoming Salzburg’s head coach.
Clark is the third player to leave Anfield permanently this summer following Fabio Carvalho’s move to Brentford and Adrian’s departure on a free transfer.
