Chelsea complete £62.4 million double transfer of Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo from Sporting CP before summer window

Sporting CP have revealed that Premier League giants Chelsea have signed Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo for a combined transfer fee in the region of £62.4 million. Quenda is a highly-rated 17-year-old winger who has played a key role for Sporting this term, while Essugo is a holding midfielder who has spent the campaign impressing on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas.

Sporting CP have announced that Chelsea have signed Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo for a combined fee in the region of £62.4 million.
The Portuguese club released a statement on their website revealing that 17-year-old winger Quenda could cost The Blues up to £44 million.
Essugo, who is currently on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas, will arrive at Stamford Bridge for a transfer fee of £18.4 million.
Quenda will remain at Sporting until the end of next season, while Essugo will link up with the Chelsea squad at the end of the current campaign.
Quenda is a highly-rated winger who burst onto the scene at the Estadio Jose Alvalade under current Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.
He has scored one goal and registered five assists in 26 league appearances so far this season.

He also set up a goal in Sporting's 4-1 triumph over Premier League champions Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League earlier this term.
Defensive midfielder Essugo has made 17 La Liga appearances this season, scoring one goal.

The 20-year-old is not the only prodigious youngster set to link up with the Chelsea squad this summer.
Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez will also join the Premier League giants when the current season comes to an end after signing for Chelsea in June 2024 and June 2023, respectively.
