Mohamed Salah's Liverpool future has been one of the key talking points of the Premier League campaign, but it has not stopped the forward from lighting up the title race. He inspired his side to a crucial 2-0 win over defending champions Manchester City on Sunday, but after the match, he suggested that it may be his final game against City at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah suggested he may have played his final game against Manchester City at Anfield after inspiring Liverpool to an impressive 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola's side.

The Egyptian winger's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and he recently revealed that The Reds are yet to offer him a new one.

Salah was the star of the show at Anfield, setting up Cody Gakpo's opener before wrapping up the win from the penalty spot with 12 minutes remaining.

Despite uncertainty over his future, Salah insists he is enjoying every minute he has left in a Liverpool shirt.

"Honestly, it's in my head," he told Sky Sports. "Until now, this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool, so I was just going to enjoy it.

"The atmosphere was incredible, so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully, we just win the league and will see what will happen.

"It's very special. I don't take it for granted. It feels like home.

"It's always a special feeling, always, scoring at Anfield and winning games. It is crazy, the fans were behind us from the first minute, and I am glad we managed to win the game.

"We knew City were going to come and try to win the game here, but we managed to play a good game and win the game."

The result means Liverpool are now 11 points ahead of City and nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

It also means Guardiola's side have now not won in seven matches across all competitions.

However, Virgil van Dijk believes that City are always going to pose a threat.

"After the game it is always easy to say these things [that City were vulnerable]," the centre-back told Sky Sports.

"I think City are a fantastic team. They are four-time champions in a row and they have the quality to punish any team.

"I think we were very solid defensively, offensively we did our part and created good chances.

"We could have scored more, so overall it has been a great day. Now we will recover and be ready for another game on Wednesday."
