Jhon Duran was controversially sent off in only his fourth match for Al Nassr against El Ettifaq on Friday night, sparking a furious reaction from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al Nassr were trailing 3-2 at home in the 92nd minute, having twice led in the fixture, with Georginio Wijnaldum's brace and an own goal from Mohammed Al-Fatil giving the visitors the advantage.
Wijnaldum's second - the winner - came in the 89th minute, with emotions running high in the dying embers of the clash.
Their chances of a late response, though, were dealt a blow when Duran appeared to aim a light cuff at the back of the head of Al Ettifaq midfielder Abdulelah Al-Malki.
Al-Malki dramatically fell and rolled on the ground as both sets of players converged around him to take part in a histrionic disagreement, and the referee swiftly issued Duran with a straight red card - sparking a furious reaction from the Al Nassr captain.
It was just the fourth match for Duran after he joined from Aston Villa for a reported fee of around £65 million in the winter transfer window.
