Tottenham Hotspur have announced the permanent signing of France Under-21 international Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich for a fee reportedly in the region of £29.8 million.
The 20-year-old forward joined Spurs on loan from the German giants in the winter transfer window and made 13 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring two goals and registering one assist.
The loan move included an option to buy, and Spurs have exercised that right, with Tel signing a six-year deal with the north London side that will see him remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until the summer of 2031.
The youngster is currently part of the France squad that is competing at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Tel scored on his full debut for the club but ended up on the losing side in a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa.
He joined Bayern from French club Rennes in July 2022 for a reported €28.5 million.
He battled former Spurs striker Harry Kane for a place in the starting 11 but was unable to displace the England captain.
