Arsenal have completed the signing of 21-year-old centre-back Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia.
Mosquera featured in 37 of Valencia's 38 La Liga games last term, and also played in three of Spain's four U21 European Championship matches recently.
The youngster can play in central defence or at right-back and will fill the gap in the squad left by the departure of Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Mosquera played the full match in those 37 La Liga games for Valencia last season, as the club finished in 12th place in the table.
He is set to join the Arsenal squad on their pre-season tour of the Far East.
Arsenal face Newcastle in Singapore on Sunday, before taking on local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong next week.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is having a busy summer in the transfer market, as he desperately tries to take his team one step further in the Premier League.
Mosquera follows Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard and Noni Madueke in being added to Arteta's squad, with Viktor Gyokeres also reportedly close to agreeing a deal.
"We're delighted to welcome Cristhian to Arsenal," Arteta said. "As a 21-year-old defender, Cristhian has already performed consistently well with significant experience in La Liga. He is an intelligent player with good pace, who can play centrally and on both sides.
"He is a young player with exciting talent and enormous potential, who will fit well into our squad as we continue to prepare for next season. Cristhian adds good quality to our squad, and we look forward to working with him and making him feel at home with us.
"From all of us, we welcome Cristhian and his family to the club."
The Gunners have finished in second place in the last three seasons, twice losing out to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and then last term to Arne Slot's Liverpool.
