Chelsea open to signing Jacquet and sending him on loan

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins has reported that Chelsea are interested in signing 20-year-old defender Jeremy Jacquet.
However, Hawkins has also said that the FIFA Club World Cup winners would subsequently loan him back to Rennes until the end of the season once the deal is complete.
Jacquet has impressed this term, making 16 appearances in Ligue 1 to help Rennes up to sixth in the table.
Hawkins believes that the French club have put a €60 million price tag on the youngster.
"Exclusive: Chelsea are now open to signing Jeremy Jacquet, with an immediate loan back to Rennes until the end of the season," he posted on X.
"The Blues have recalled Datro Fofana to free up a loan slot.
"Rennes and Chelsea need to agree on a transfer fee. As revealed, the Bretons want more than €60M.
"Discussions will continue. Jacquet is okay to sign with The Blues."

PSG star Lee wants to stay

Kang-in Lee wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain despite interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, according to Le Parisien.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested that the South Korea international could be on his way to La Liga after producing one goal and two assists in 14 Ligue 1 appearances for the French side.
The 24-year-old joined the reigning UEFA Champions League winners from Mallorca in July 2023, and Le Parisien says that he still sees a future at the club.

"According to our information, this scenario is not currently on the table," read the article.
"Kang-in Lee, who has scored two goals and provided three assists in 21 appearances this season, has no intention of leaving PSG in the coming weeks.
"Under contract until June 2028, the left-footed player still sees his future in Paris and is delighted to be playing for the European champions."

Paris FC turn to former Premier League star after missing out on Dzeko

Florian Plettenberg believes that Paris FC will go after former Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton striker Neal Maupay, now that Edin Dzeko looks set to return to Germany.
Maupay currently plays for French side Marseille, but he has only made one league appearance this term.
Dzeko only joined his current side, Fiorentina, in the summer, but he has struggled to hit the ground running back in Italy, and has been linked with a move to Schalke in recent weeks.
Plettenberg says that Paris FC have already held talks over a deal for Maupay after learning that Dzeko would prefer a move to Germany.
"Paris FC have been informed that Edin Dzeko has decided in favour of Schalke 04," he wrote on X.
"Paris are now focusing on Neal Maupay and are holding concrete talks. The 29-year-old striker is under contract with Marseille until 2028.
"There is currently no update on Mathys Tel, as there has been no green light from Tottenham yet."

Lopez keen on Celta return

Matteo Moretto has reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Spanish midfielder Fer Lopez would prefer a return to Celta Vigo this month.
However, the Spanish club and their Premier League counterparts apparently still have some way to go before they can agree a deal.
Lopez arrived at Molineux in the summer from Celta, but he has struggled to adapt to the Premier League, producing just one assist in nine appearances.
Moretto says that Celta have put several loan options on the table in their attempt to bring Lopez back to Spain.
"Fer Lopez gives maximum priority to Celta and negotiations with the footballer have been underway for weeks," he posted on X.
"Celta has proposed to Wolverhampton a loan until the end of the season or for 18 months, but the situation between the clubs has not yet been unblocked. The conversations continue."
