The Manchester Evening News quotes Fabrizio Romano, who spoke about Wharton on his YouTube channel.

"Manchester United's hopes of signing Crystal Palace and England midfielder Adam Wharton face being put on hold until next summer, according to reports," reads the article.

"The rebuild at United is expected to continue in January and next summer. Alongside Brighton & Hove Albion's Carlos Baleba, Wharton is one of the Reds' long-term midfield targets, though Palace are understood to want a fee of £80m-£100m.

"Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Wharton's future isn't set to be decided until after the World Cup with some of Europe's biggest clubs circling.

"'I think if something happens, it's going to be after the World Cup, but for sure, the focus of the player is on Crystal Palace,’ he said on his YouTube channel.

"'He didn't want to move this summer, and he was not pushing for a move, because he's fully focused on Palace.

"'Then in 2026, I would not be surprised if something happens, because Premier League clubs, but also clubs in Spain, including Real Madrid, are monitoring the boy, and so let's see what's going to happen.'"

Eriksen lands new club

Former Manchester United attacker Christian Eriksen is set to join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, it has been claimed.

The Denmark international has been a free agent since leaving The Red Devils at the end of the season.

He reportedly turned down moves to Premier League new boys Burnley and Championship side Wrexham.

"According to Danish outlet Tipsbladet, the midfielder has jetted to Germany in order to complete the deal," writes The Sun.

"The move will see Eriksen link up with compatriot Peter Christiansen.

"The former Tottenham star has recently been training with Malmo.

"But rather than penning a deal with the Swedish side, Eriksen has opted to try his hand in the Bundesliga for the first time."

Malacia close to Man Utd exit

The final member of Manchester United's 'bomb squad' Tyrell Malacia is on the brink of leaving the club.

Malacia was one of a group of players to be exiled from Ruben Amorim's senior squad, along with Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho.

The full-back is now closing in on a move to Turkish Super Lig side Eyupspor.

"Manchester United's final "Bomb Squad" outcast Tyrell Malacia has been offered a crucial lifeline by a team in Turkey," reads an article in The Sun.

"SunSport understands that Super Lig side Eyupspor have made contact with United about a season-long loan for the 26-year-old full-back.

"But Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co. will have just two days to get a deal done, with the Turkish window closing on Friday.

"The extended transfer period in Turkey has again offered to bail out United after calamity goalkeeper Andre Onana agreed to join Trabzonspor on loan."
