The future of Crystal Palace manager Olivier Glasner is uncertain according a report, with Manchester United "among the interested onlookers". Elsewhere, in Friday's Paper Round, The Red Devils had considered Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prior to appointing Ruben Amorim as manager, and Tottenham Hotspur are scouting Brazilian teenage forward Rayan Vitor from Vasco da Gama.

Oliver Glasner’s future at Crystal Palace is uncertain after the Austrian reportedly declined the chance to sign a new contract with the club, according to the Mirror.

The Eagles are flying high under Glasner - sitting third in the Premier League and enjoying their first European campaign after lifting the FA Cup last season.

However, his future remains in doubt, with the Mirror citing information originally reported by BBC Sport.

"Glasner is hot property right now, having masterminded Palace’s FA Cup final win and made an unbeaten start to the season, with Manchester United among the interested onlookers," reads the article.

"BBC Sport reports that Glasner was offered a contract extension over the summer, yet he declined to sign it, preferring to wait until the end of the transfer window.

"Glasner was openly critical of Palace’s approach in the transfer market and threatened to resign if the club sold [Marc] Guehi without finding a replacement.

"Palace’s low-key window could ultimately lead to Glasner’s departure because it didn’t match his personal ambitions. The club brought in just five players, two of whom came on free transfers, and only Yeremy Pino has made an impact so far this season.

"The chances of Palace keeping Glasner beyond the end of the season are reportedly deemed ‘remote’ following internal discussions. The club will try to persuade him otherwise, but it seems that he could jump ship to a different club who are able to match the success he had at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he won the Europa League in 2022."

Man Utd considered Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in the running to replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United boss.

The Mirror claims Red Devils chiefs were considering re-appointing the Norwegian before hiring Ruben Amorim almost one year ago.

Solskjaer was in charge of United for three years between 2018 and 2021, winning 92 of the 168 matches he oversaw.

"Former United icon Solskjaer was among the names to be mentioned for the role," states the outlet.

"There was fleeting consideration given to reappointing him on a temporary basis if Amorim was unattainable."

Spurs monitoring Brazilian teenager

The Mail reports that Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Brazilian teenager Rayan Vitor.

The Vasco da Gama forward has a release clause of £34 million and is thought to be on the verge of a call-up to Brazil's senior team.

A number of other European clubs are interested, including Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona.

"Tottenham are among the clubs following Vasco da Gama's young forward Rayan Vitor," writes the Mail.

"Club scouts have been monitoring his progress in recent months and checked on him again last week when he scored in a 2-0 win over Cruzeiro.

"The 19-year-old was a prolific goalscorer throughout his youth and while his strike rate has dropped, he is still making an impact at first-team level.

"Quick and aggressive, Rayan is tipped for a national call-up to Carlo Ancelotti's senior Brazil squad also.

"He has a release clause set at £34 million but suitors are hoping he can be prised out for less.

"However, competition is building with Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, Liverpool, Brighton, Barcelona and Zenit St Petersburg among the clubs who have also been to watch him since the turn of the year."
