Guardiola on 'Team Rodrygo'
With reports swirling about the departures of several Manchester City attackers, including Jack Grealish, Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has emerged as an option for Pep Guardiola, according to Marca.
The Spanish publication has claimed that the Brazilian would be open to the move, despite no concrete contact between the clubs as of yet.
"At the moment, there has been no contact between the clubs, but it is clear that City is appealing to the Brazilian, who has yet to make any statements about his future," reads the article.
"City assures him that they will fight for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, something that is non-negotiable for a player of his calibre.
"Real Madrid has not yet set a price, but given the amounts being paid in England, he will not be a cheap player, far from it.
"During the summer, the options have increased for Rodrygo, but none have come to fruition. Arsenal were the first to put the player on their list, but in the end they opted for Viktor Gyokeres. Liverpool are doing their best to get the deal for Alexander Isak over the line, and Chelsea have not made any formal move to approach him. PSG have been mentioned, if Bradley Barcola leaves, as well as Bayern Munich, after they let Kingsley Coman join the Saudi Arabian league.
"City are now on the horizon with the funds to buy the player and space in their squad. Guardiola has always been on Team Rodrygo."
Newcastle, Brentford in talks with striker
Arnaud Kalimuendo could be on his way to England, after his manager Habib Beye intimated that there was a chance the French striker would depart Stade Rennais before their first league match of the season.
L'Equipe reports that Brentford and Newcastle are both in talks to sign Kalimuendo, who stayed on the bench throughout his current club's last pre-season outing of the summer, against Genoa.
The 23-year-old scored 17 goals and provided four assists as Rennes finished 12th in Ligue 1 last term. Their new campaign gets underway on Friday, August 15 at home to Marseille.
"After the match [against Genoa], when asked to comment on this decision [to leave Kalimuendo on the bench], his coach was very clear about his 23-year-old striker," reads the report.

"‘I have to anticipate certain things,’ said Habib Beye. ‘If something changes, we need to be able to look at other options. For now, Arnaud is a Stade Rennais player, and I consider him 100% committed to this club, but I need to be able to anticipate in case something happens before the Marseille match [on Friday].’
"This could well be the case, as discussions are currently underway between Rennes and two Premier League clubs: Brentford and Newcastle.
"The talks with the former are said to be a little more advanced, while the player, who is under contract until 2027, has turned down Leeds."
O'Riley Juventus-bound
Brighton & Hove Albion's Matt O'Riley is close to a move to Serie A giants Juventus, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.
The Denmark international made 21 Premier League appearances last season, but could be about to join the likes of Joao Pedro, Simon Adingra, Pervis Estupinan and Valentin Barco as the latest to leave the Amex permanently this summer.
With interest from Juventus in O'Riley dating back "a couple of years", Brighton are reportedly demanding close to £26 million for the midfielder.
"Matt O'Riley is gaining ground as a candidate for Juventus' midfield," claims Tuttosport. "The Danish midfielder's name has been in the Bianconeri scouts' database for a couple of years now, but he has returned to the spotlight after approaches last summer.
"This time, however, a real football engagement between the 2000-born player and the Old Lady could be on the cards. The first approaches in this regard have been very positive. So much so that the Brighton player has given his full availability for a transfer to Turin.
"Juve would guarantee him a five-year contract worth around €3 million per season: this is the draft agreement between the parties.
"However, in order to try to tie the knot, the Bianconeri club first needs to cash in on the sale of at least a couple of players, including Douglas Luiz, Weston McKennie and Fabio Miretti.
"Their departures would provide the funds needed to finance the deal with Brighton, as the English club has no intention of offering discounts or favourable prices and is asking for €30 million to sell the former Celtic player."
