Juventus are aiming to bolster their options in goal, with the Serie A giants interested in Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and former Manchester United star David de Gea. Martinez helped Villa win the UEFA Europa League before playing a key role in Argentina’s run to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

De Gea, 35, left Old Trafford in 2023 and has since established himself as a reliable shot-stopper in Serie A, helping Fiorentina avoid relegation to Serie B during the 2025/26 campaign.
Calciomercato says both goalkeepers are on Juventus’ shortlist after a move to sign Liverpool star Alisson went nowhere.
”Next week could be crucial for Dibu [Emiliano Martínez],” reads the article. ”After the World Cup is over the transfer market spotlight will be on him and Juve will try to accelerate.
”If the result is negative, they'll be keeping an eye on the possibility of David de Gea, an idea that emerged a month ago and could become a reality if the Bianconeri decide to delve deeper into the situation.
”This is why an attempt was made to sign Alisson and now negotiations are underway for Dibu Martinez, with David de Gea (and others) currently in the background.”

Summerville linked with Roma

Roma are going to make a third official bid to sign West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Hammers were relegated to the Championship last term, but Summerville was one of their shining lights, producing five goals and four assists in 31 Premier League appearances.
He also impressed as part of the Netherlands squad that competed at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, though his side were eliminated in the round of 32.
Romano says that Roma’s second bid of €45 million was rejected by the East London club.
”AS Roma are set to send a third official bid for Crysencio Summerville to West Ham,” he wrote on X.
”Second proposal in excess of €45m also rejected by #WHUFC, Roma want to try again today. Key hours ahead: in or out soon.”

Villa lead Leao race

Rafael Leao is reportedly targeting a move to the Premier League this summer, with Aston Villa said to be ready and waiting to sign the AC Milan forward.
Leao arrived at San Siro in 2019 from Lille and enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign, producing nine goals and three assists in 29 Serie A appearances.
He followed that up by representing his country at the World Cup, setting up Goncalo Ramos’s stoppage-time winner against Croatia in the round of 32.
However, Portugal were eliminated by Spain in the next round and now Gazzetta says that Leao is eager to find his next challenge.
”Leao has a contract with Milan until 2028 but he is clearly aiming for an outright sale to close the story once and for all,” read the article.
”It remains to be seen if [Villa head coach Unai] Emery will want to bet on the talent, with ups and downs, of the Portuguese and if the latter will consider the Villans enough to leave Milan.
”Certainly the Premier League tempts it more than the Turkish league where Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce have plenty of money.”

Rowe set for Premier League move

Leao is not the only Serie A winger who has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Calciomercato are reporting that Bologna’s English forward Jonathan Rowe is attracting interest from Chelsea and Aston Villa after an eventful start to his pre-season.
Rowe was sent off during a friendly against German side Arminia Bielefeld earlier this month.

He did produce three goals and three assists in 28 Serie A appearances during the 25/26 campaign.
The Italian website believes that his performances have been enough to attract attention from the Premier League.
”Another nervous summer is in store for Jonathan Rowe,” reads the article.
"Transfer market discussions could be discussed, with the winger being sought in the Premier League.”
