Following their exhilarating comeback against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, Arsenal face Lyon for a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final.
Renee Slegers’ team triumphed 3–2 on aggregate over the Spanish side last month thanks to an inspired 3–0 win in the second leg.
Alessia Russo’s double and Mariona Caldentey’s header all came in the early stages of the second half on a thrilling night at Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners are now pushing for European success for only the second time in the club’s history, having won what was then called the UEFA Women’s Cup in 2007. They remain the only women's club in Britain to have been crowned European champions.
Arsenal's semi-final opponents and eight-time holders Lyon knocked out Bayern Munich in the last eight and are currently top of the French Premiere Ligue.
The winner of their two-leg encounter will progress to face either Chelsea or Barcelona in the final in Lisbon on May 24.
