Manchester City meet Chelsea in the last eight of the UEFA Women's Champions League, part of a saga between the sides this spring - live on TNT Sports and discovery+ on Wednesday.

There is a Women's Super League meeting to follow straight after - and then the second leg of their European showdown - but all eyes will be on Wednesday first.

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor believes winning the League Cup final can be a "big advantage" going into this European clash - as the former Lyon boss eyes an historic double in her first season in charge.

"Psychologically it's really important to win the first one," she said. "Of course, it won't be the main element going into the next game but in terms of confidence, it's really positive. You always recover better when you win games.

"That's a big advantage but it won't be enough just to think that because we won this, it will be enough to win the game on Wednesday.

City's interim manager Nick Cushing hopes his team can use their defeat as motivation.

"I'm a simple guy. This feeling that you get when you lose finals - if that is not enough motivation, then we are playing the wrong game," Cushing said.
