England got their Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign back on track with a 73-38 victory over Malawi on Monday.

Anna Stembridge's side bounced back from their 66-47 defeat by reigning champions Australia to record their second win from three games in Group A at the Games.
The Roses quickly hit their stride thanks to sharp shooting from Olivia Tchine (24 from 26) and Lois Pearson (16 from 17) early on.
Malawi stuck with their opponents for most of the first half, veteran Mwayi Kumwenda notching 20 goals from 23 attempts.
However, England found another gear after the break. The introduction of Halimat Adio and Funmi Fadoju tightened things up in defence.
Meanwhile, Sasha Glasgow and Eleanor Cardwell kept the scoreboard ticking over, the latter scoring with all 21 of her shots as The Roses ran out commanding winners.
England are third in the group with second-placed South Africa having a game in hand.

Malawi's race is definitely run as far as this contest is concerned.
The Queens have only scored two goals in this quarter, with their opponents pulling further clear.

The late injury replacement for Natalie Metcalf, she quickly finds the hoop.

The Roses are closing in on getting back to winning ways.
Sharp shooter
Eleanor Cardwell has also hit the ground running upon her introduction into England's attack.
She's seven from seven since coming on.
Q3: England 51-29 Malawi
Glasgow has definitely provided a spark to England's attack since her introduction.
She's already scored seven times, while taking the Roses' tally beyond the half-century mark.
Q3: England 47-28 Malawi
Stembridge applauds as England continue to dominate and stretch their advantage.
She's in her second spell as the Roses' coach, after replacing Jess Thirlby in March.
Stembridge led England to a fourth-place finish at the Games 12 years ago, having also played for Wales in 2002 and 2006.

Stembridge made a tactical tweak, moving Lois Pearson to wing-back and introducing Sasha Glasgow to the attack.
It's already proved effective with the latter getting her name on the scoresheet.

With 21 goals from 23 attempts, Olivia Tchine has maintained her record of scoring 20 or more in all three games for England at these Games.

Stembridge's side remain in control and on course to return to winning ways at the halfway stage.

Despite Malawi's early surge, England have managed to wrestle the momentum away and just keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Malawi coach Deborah Fuller made a couple of changes during the break.
It's definitely given her side a boost, and they appear reinvigorated.
There's ground for them to make up, though.
