Henry Pollock is the name on everyone's lips after scoring a sensational try for Northampton Saints against Sale Sharks, fuelling the excitement around his emergence after a memorable England debut against Wales in the Six Nations. TNT Sports' Ben Kay and Ugo Monye have both given their verdict on the youngster's rapid rise and the possibility of a British and Irish Lions call-up.

Ben Kay and Ugo Monye heaped praise on Henry Pollock after his stunning try in Northampton Saints' Gallagher Premiership loss to Sale Sharks on Friday night.

The 20-year-old forward impressed on his England debut in the Six Nations drubbing of Wales earlier this month, coming off the bench to get two tries, and there has been tentative talk of a potential place on the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia.

Pollock caught the eye again for Northampton despite defeat, charging free down the right before aiming a delicate kick in behind, sprinting onto it and touching down in style for his first Premiership try.

"This guy, come on... something from nothing," said TNT Sports commentator Alastair Eykyn.

"It's a special, special talent, and you can see team-mates shaking their heads in disbelief, but they see it all the time in training."

Former England international Kay, speaking on TNT Sports commentary, claimed the youngster is in with a chance of a Lions selection.

"He's got everything," Kay said. "It's the strength to get him through initially, the confidence to chip over the top and back his pace.

"He's a little bit fortunate with the bounce, but you make your own luck. And when things are going for you, they tend to keep going for you.

"He is staking his claim. We were all thinking it's too early, but if you're playing this style, we've seen some players go before, right at the beginning of their international journey.

"Maybe not going as first choice, but in the squad and then something happens along the way. He's definitely in the conversation."

Fellow ex-England star Ugo Monye was equally effusive in his assessment of Pollock.

"I don't think it is too early to talk about him and the tour to Australia. He is on fire. He's flying. That sense of positivity; it's so infectious, things do happen around him. I'm a fan."

The Lions squad will be announced on Thursday, May 8 at O2 Arena in London, with the tour set to begin in June.
