The 10th consecutive edition of the English Open takes place between Monday, September 15 and Sunday, September 21 in Brentwood, Essex. A new champion will be crowned after Neil Robertson fell to defeat against Jackson Page. This is the fourth ranking event of the season, and the first of four tournaments in the Home Nations Series. Attention now turns back to home soil when the world's best players battle it out at the 2025 English Open.
There will be no Ronnie O'Sullivan this time, with the seven-time world champion picking his tournament appearances more carefully these days.
John Higgins is also another player from the world's top 16 choosing to miss the tournament, but plenty of stars will still be in action this coming week.
On a Wednesday brimming with upsets, Neil Robertson's title defence came to a resounding end with defeat to Jackson Page.
The shocks continued on Thursday, with world No. 1 Judd Trump toppled by Elliot Slessor - while Zhou Yuelong beat Mark Selby in the semi-finals to set up a meeting with Mark Allen in the final.
