Mark Selby compiled a superb 147 at the Championship League in Leicester on Wednesday. It was the sixth maximum break of his career and the first made by Selby since his stunning effort in the World Championship final against Luca Brecel at the Crucible two years ago. Selby went on to beat Kyren Wilson in the final to win the invitational version of the event for the second year in succession.

Mark Selby made the sixth maximum break of his stellar career at the Championship League in Leicester on Wednesday.
Selby compiled his latest 147 in his match against Xiao Guodong, which he won 3-2.
It is the first maximum Selby has made in professional play since his memorable effort during the 2023 World Championship final against Luca Brecel.
Selby later went on to beat world champion Kyren Wilson in the final to win the invitational version of the event for the second year in succession.
The match between Selby and Xiao was full of quality, with the Englishman also making breaks of 60 and 111.
Xiao's scoring was impressive too, as he weighed in with breaks of 59, 122 and 100.
Selby's season has been typically respectable. He won the British Open in Cheltenham in September and has also reached two other tournament semi-finals, along with four quarter-finals.
This was yet another landmark moment for the Leicester man, who is certainly no stranger to making the perfect break.
The first maximum of Selby's career came in a match with Joe Perry at the Jiangsu Classic in 2009, while his 147 against Ricky Walden in the UK Championship semi-finals in 2013 was the 100th in snooker history.
Selby's third maximum was against Neil Robertson at the Champion of Champions in 2018, the first to be made at that tournament.

He made it four maximums during a meeting with Jack Lisowski at the last 16 stage of the British Open in 2022, an audacious treble helping him on the way to the perfect break.
His fifth maximum against Brecel at the Crucible two years ago was the first and only to be made in a world final.
Now he's added a sixth, with this being the first that he's made behind closed doors.
Selby beat Wilson 3-0 in the final, helped by breaks of 99 and 100.
He will hope to take this form into next week's Welsh Open in Llandudno.
