England batter Heather Knight said her side had to "park" their egos to claim a nervy four-wicket victory over Bangladesh and reclaim top spot at the Women's World Cup. Knight and Charlie Dean struck up a brilliant partnership to recover from 78-5 and chase down 179 in 46.1 overs. Knight survived three reviews to record an unbeaten 79 from 111 balls.

England had to park their egos in order to survive a scare and defeat Bangladesh by four wickets in the Women's World Cup on Tuesday, Heather Knight said.
Knight and Charlie Dean’s partnership saw England overcome a brilliant Bangladesh bowling display and recover from 78-5 to successfully chase down 179 in 46.1 overs.Â
On the performance, Knight, who recorded an unbeaten 79 from 111 balls, said via the BBC: "Charlie [Dean] was brilliant.Â
"Alice Capsey played really well to get a little partnership. We just said one partnership would get the bulk of the runs.Â
"We had to park our egos a few times and play more attritionally with the surface, the way they bowled, accuracy and not much pace on the ball."
England’s victory came courtesy of some luck, as Knight survived a review sparing her of a first-ball duck. Indeed, the umpire's finger went up on two further occasions against Knight, only for lbw and caught decisions to be overturned.Â
"I can't say I have been out three times and been reprieved ever in an innings," she said. "That was a new one for me."
On her reprieve from the catch at extra cover, Knight added: "I thought it carried and was a fair catch. That is why I walked off. Obviously the TV umpire decided otherwise.
"It wasn't the easiest conditions. Bangladesh have a really good bowling attack and a little bit of an inconsistent turn.
"Obviously there was a little bit of pressure on, we made it hard for ourselves but the main thing in World Cups is getting over line.

"It didn't feel very easy at the start. First proper game in the middle since May.Â
"We struggled to find the rhythm a little bit. They bowled really well up front, and were threatening. They took a lot of pace off which made it hard - tricky to hit through the outfield. A lot easier as it went on.
"Marufa Akter is a very good bowler. She gets that real late swing which is rare. She threatens the front pad. Luckily I got a couple of reprieves and tried to find a method to get through it. Nat did really well to hit her out of the attack."
