PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS finals get underway at the Esports World Cup

The PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS finals began on day four of week three in the Esports World Cup, while the Teamfight Tactics playoffs began.

Then there was further action from the group stage of the MSC tournament, and it was also the first day of the Last Chance Qualifier in the Street Fighter 6 competition. Meanwhile, there was no action in the FC Pro World Championship, as rounds five and six will take place on Saturday.

At the end of the first day of action in the PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS tournament, Virtus.Pro were sat top of the leaderboard with 91 points. This is a comfortable lead to second, as Team Falcons earned 63 points, while third-placed Natus Vincere have 45.

In the Teamfight Tactics playoffs, we had the semi-finals confirmed, as Wanin Flashwolves will face Team Vision after they beat Nongshim Redforce and Virtus.Pro respectively. On the other side of the playoffs, Aurora Gaming beat Weibo Gaming, and now they will face AG.AL in the semi-final after they beat Godlike Esports.

We had the next day of group stage action in the MSC tournament as we discovered who would be progressing from Group A to the playoffs. Team Vitality and Team Vamos are the two sides to have progressed after they beat Team Falcons PH and Team Spirit, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the lower bracket of Group A, we saw Guangzhou Gaming and Team Falcons Mena progress past True Rippers and Ignite Gaming, respectively. The pair will now face either Team Falcons PH or Team Spirit in the next round of the lower bracket, with the winners progressing to the playoffs, with these games taking place on Sunday.

Tomorrow in this tournament we will see action from Group B; in the upper bracket, Yangon Galacticos will square off with Pro Esports to see who will progress to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the draw to see who will progress, ONIC will square off with Aurora Gaming. Then in the lower bracket Geekay Esports will face Selangor Red Giants, and Entity7 will face Team Liquid, with the losers of these two ties being eliminated from the competition.
