Juan Mata rolled back the years with a sumptuous brace in Melbourne Victory’s 3-1 derby win away to rivals Melbourne City.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder opened the scoring with a sensational first-time lob from 40 yards out.
After an equaliser from the hosts, the 37-year-old restored his side’s lead with a powerful, rising strike from the edge of the area.
The former Spain international then played a key role in sealing the win late on, executing a wonderful sweeping pass in behind for Clarismario Santos, who cut inside before curling a great effort into the far corner.
The opening goal was the highlight of a wonderful afternoon for Mata, showcasing the quality of his left foot which he became known for during his decade in England.
Victory pinched possession, with their rivals looking to play out from the back, and the ball fell to Mata, who sent home a pinpoint finish that lifted over City goalkeeper Patrick Beach.

Speaking afterwards, the midfielder told Paramount: "It was instinct, I saw the goalkeeper was a bit out of his goal, sometimes you try this, it goes to the corner, this time it went in.
"It’s been a very enjoyable night. To be able to play at this level in a derby is very special, so a happy night."
The TNT Sports commentary team said: "That is outstanding, outrageous from the Spaniard.
"Well, a derby goal of the highest order. A moment of absolute magic from the Spanish magician. Well, you might take a bow."
They added: "It’s the maestro, Juan Mata. It’s been an excellent season from him, and he's got a goal for the ages now to celebrate. A piece of brilliance."
