Bayern Munich 2-1 Borussia Dortmund result - Harry Kane and Michael Olise goals preserve champions' perfect Bundesliga record

Harry Kane scored his 400th goal in all competitions as he spearheaded Bayern Munich to a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena.

The England captain's first-half header gave Bayern a deserved lead before Dortmund grew into the match as the second half wore on.

However, Michael Olise capitalised on a Jobe Bellingham error with 10 minutes to go to double the hosts' advantage, but Julian Brandt struck with his first touch to set up a dramatic finish.

Bayern's defence held firm in the closing minutes though and they saw out the win to inflict Dortmund's first loss of the season, while Bayern's 100% record in all competitions this season remains intact.

Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, speaking to Sky Sports, said: "I think only half [courageous], because it was only the second half.

"The second half we were the better team but the first half was not enough.

"In the second half, we played a different game, way more courageous, way better with the ball.

"It's unfortunate that we played the first half the way we did because in the second half we played a good game."

On Bellingham's mistake for the second goal, Kobel said: "He didn't see the guy coming. That's all it takes sometimes. It's unfortunate and a sad situation."

The saying 'a game of two halves' gets thrown around a lot, but this really was one.

Bayern dominated the whole of the first half and should have had a larger lead, but Dortmund stayed in the game and amped up the pressure in the second period.

Olise's goal looked to have sealed all three points, but substitute Brandt hit back for Dortmund to set up a late showdown.

However, the Bayern defence held firm to cling on to all three points.

Diaz takes it to the corner, eating up valuable time. Two minutes to go for Bayern to hold on. No team has had them on the ropes like this so far this season.

Neuer does brilliantly to find Kane. Olise then finds Diaz who cannot wrap it up with less than a minute to go. Replays show that was actually a stunning reflex save from Kobel.

One more Dortmund chance now. But Kim wins a free-kick and that will be enough to run the clock down.

Bayern hold on to win Der Klassiker.

All of a sudden there are gaps in Bayern's defence but players are just about getting around to put the tackles in.

Everyone bar Kobel is in Bayern's half. Svensson wins a corner and Bayern will send Kim Min-Jae on for Pavlovic.

Neuer punches clear but Diaz can't get away with the counter.

Svensson does well to keep the ball in and shifts to Silva, but his cross is cleared. Brandt pulls it back, but Nmecha's shot is blocked. It is all Dortmund now but Kane intercepts Silva's run.

Kane is there at the back again to slide in to stop another promising run from Silva.

Can Dortmund do anything with the corner? Tah gets up and clears.

How much added time will there be for Dortmund to find an equaliser? The answer is five minutes.

Ryerson whips in a cross and Brandt, unmarked, taps home past Neuer with his first touch.

A moment to forget for Bellingham, defending so close to his goal, but credit to Olise who showed the hunger to close him down and create the chance.

Bayern look set to move five points clear at the top and seven points clear from Dortmund. They have been faultless this season.

Two more substitutions for Dortmund. Julian Brandt and Fabio Silva replace Groẞ and Giurassy.

Sucker punch!

Kane gets the move started off again from inside his own half, playing a lovely diagonal ball out to Luis Diaz in space on the left.

Diaz then pulls the ball back and it looks like the chance is gone when Bellingham takes control, but his clearance is closed down by Olise and it trickles across the line!

Adeyemi looks frustrated as he comes off, as you would expect from a hungry striker who hasn't troubled the scoresheet.

Kovac is a bit too passionate about a tackle that didn't go his side's way, and gets a telling off and a yellow card.

Olise breaks into the Dortmund box but is denied by a sliding Schlotterbeck. The young German centre-back, linked with a Premier League move, has had a brilliant game today.

And here they come. Maximilian Beier and former Sunderland lad Jobe Bellingham are coming on for Adeyemi and Marcel Sabitzer.

More Dortmund pressure as Adeyemi takes a half volley but Upamecano blocks, before Kane does well to win a free-kick and Bayern can regroup.

Kimmich gives the ball away to Adeyemi and it is two on two. He plays a one-two with Giurassy but slips at the vital moment and skies the shot!

Svensson uses some nice footwork to get to the touchline on the left and pulls it back to Giurassy, but he fires well wide and over.

The Swede is pushing much higher up the pitch this half and finds more space, but Boey blocks the cross.

Bayern make their first change now, as Leon Goretzka comes on for Nicolas Jackson.

Nothing happens with the corner and Dortmund are driven back. At least they are seeing more of the ball though, even if it is only 40%.

For all of their dominance, Bayern's xG for the first half was exactly one. They didn't create as many clear-cut chances as they'd like.

The game is getting scrappier as the fouls build up.

Schlotterbeck does really well to weave his way out of trouble but can't find Giurassy with the pass. Bensebaini then crunches into Olise and gets booked - the fourth of the match.

Jackson then gets baited by Schlotterbeck and is lucky to escape a yellow. Dortmund do win a corner from the free-kick. Better.

Ryerson gets space on the right and cuts inside. Laimer fends him off, but does so by slapping him in the face and gets penalised. A yellow card and a free kick in a dangerous position.

It will be Ryerson to take. He finds Felix Nmecha but he heads wide! He has to hit the target from there.
