Their title challenge was rocked when they were shocked in a home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, which will no doubt give the Portuguese outfit all the confidence in the world as they head to Emirates Stadium looking to overturn a one-goal deficit.

Should they avoid defeat in the second leg, Arsenal will face Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid side in the semi-final.

The Spanish side beat La Liga rivals Barcelona 3-2 on aggregate despite a 2-1 loss in the second leg, but it was only in October that Arsenal produced a stirring 4-0 win over Atletico in the league phase.

Arsenal still lead the way in the Premier League, but have a colossal game in a top-of-the-table clash with second-place Manchester City on Sunday, which could be make-or-break as they look to end a 22-year wait for the title.

Arteta also has a few injuries to contend with, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard all absent for the weekend's defeat.
