KOUNDÉ'S DOUBLE SEALS HOMECOMING WIN FOR BARCA
Barcelona returned to their Camp Nou in the UEFA Champions League, and fought back from two goals down to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 6 of the competition.
Defender Jules Koundé was the difference-maker for the hosts, as he scored with two headers, separated by just 181 seconds, to overcome Ansgar Knauff's 21st-minute opener as Barcelona turned their fortunes around with a much-improved second-half display.
The hosts started well enough, but their high defensive line was exploited by a surging counter-attack from Frankfurt, as Nathaniel Brown broke from the left-back position and ran unopposed for 40 yards before freeing Knauff, who finished well to give the visitors a shock lead.
Barcelona huffed and puffed, but couldn't find a finishing touch in the first half, but the introduction of Marcus Rashford after the break made an instant impact as he created the equaliser with one of his first touches of the game.
Rashford whipped in a superb cross to the back post, where the onrushing Koundé met it with a low diving header to draw Barca level as the French full-back ended his five-year scoring drought.
And the fans were still celebrating in the stands, when Koundé rose highest at the back post to head home his second in three minutes and put the hosts ahead.
Barca could, and probably should, have added to the scoreline as chances for Lewandowski, Rashford and Raphinha all went begging. But in the end, they were able to keep Frankfurt at arm's length for the majority of the second half as they ran out 2-1 winners.
Barcelona's victory means Hansi Flick's men move up to 14th in the competition's league phase, just two points shy of the top eight automatic qualification places. Frankfurt, meanwhile, drop to 30th, two points outside the mid-table play-off places.

KOUNDÉ 🤝 KOEMAN
Jules Koundé became the first defender to score twice in a UEFA Champions League match for Barcelona since Ronald Koeman in March 1994 against Spartak Moscow, while he was the first Barcelona player ever to score two headed goals in a game in the competition, per Opta.
In his first 41 UEFA Champions League appearances, Koundé had 23 shots and scored just once. Tonight for Barcelona, he had two attempts and scored twice, with those goals separated by just 181 seconds.

BARCA'S BOUNCEBACKABILITY
Per Opta, Barcelona's come-from-behind 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt was their 29th win after conceding first in the UEFA Champions League.
Only one club has done that on more occasions – Barca's longtime rivals Real Madrid (35 wins).

THE COMEBACK KINGS
They may have earned their first comeback win at home in the UEFA Champions League since 2019, but tonight's come-from-behind win completes a hat-trick of successive comeback victories in all competitions for Barca, who added Eintracht Frankfurt to a list that includes Real Betis and Atletico Madrid.
There's clearly still plenty of work to do for Hansi Flick, particularly in defence, but the team spirit is clearly there.

JULES KOUNDÉ GOALS: JUST LIKE LONDON BUSES
It took five years to get one, but only three minutes to get another, as Jules Koundé scored with a pair of headers early in the second half to secure the points for Barcelona.
Not bad for a right back...

IT'S BEEN A WHILE...

ONE FINAL CHANCE FOR FRANKFURT
After Barca lose the ball in their own half, Frankfurt substitute Bahoya gets into a great position on the right flank, and his low cross is well gathered by the diving Joan Garcia with two Eintracht players waiting to pounce.
That may well be the last chance for the visitors, who haven't had too many sights at goal in this second half.

FRANKFURT ARE STILL IN TOUCH
Barcelona may have completely dominated since the start of the second half, but they only lead by one goal, and as we saw in the first half, it only takes one counter-attack to change everything.
Substitute Dahoud twists and turns wide on the right and whips in a curling cross that was a little too close to Joan Garcia. Had it been a bit straighter, there were two players at the back stick waiting to head it in.
Barcelona have looked great in attack, but they're still far from solid at the back, and Frankfurt will look to take advantage in the last seven minutes.
