A BAD COUPLE OF WEEKS FOR ENGLISH TEAMS
The last English manager to concede seven at Camp Nou? Gary Neville.

LESCOTT: 'A MORE COMPACT TEAM LIKE ARSENAL WILL CAUSE BARCA A LOT OF PROBLEMS'
Joleon Lescott speaking to TNT Sports on whether Barcelona can win the Champions League: "I wouldn’t say so, just because of the way they defend.
"I think a more compact team like Arsenal [who they could play in the semi-final], and with the offensive talent they have, will cause Barça a lot of problems because I still think there are frailties in their defensive line.
"But yes, when they play like this, and over two legs, how excited they are and dominant they are at home, they’ve got a chance."

STILL PLENTY TO COME!
We will bring you all the reaction to Newcastle's elimination here, but we have three more matches coming up, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Can Liverpool use the Anfield crowd to overturn a first-leg deficit against Galatasaray?
And will Spurs cause one of the biggest shocks in Champions League history as they take on Atletico Madrid?
If you want to follow both, plus updates from Bayern v Atalanta, you can follow our multiplex too!

BARCELONA ON COLLISION COURSE WITH ARSENAL AT THE SEMIS
And so Newcastle's Champions League run ends. Plenty of positives to take though.
Managing to hold Barcelona, PSG and Bayer Leverkusen to draws helped them perform admirably in in the tournament, but in the end this was one step too far.
As for Barca, they will face the winner of Atletico Madrid v Spurs, live on TNT Sports, and will take on Arsenal in the semi-final, should both sides win their quarter-final matches.

FULL TIME! BARCELONA 7-2 NEWCASTLE
Added time? No thanks.
The final whistle goes as the clock ticks past 90 at Camp Nou.
Newcastle fought hard for most of the first half, but the late penalty proved pivotal before Barca opened up the Newcastle defence in the second period to secure a huge win and book their spot in the quarters.

NEWCASTLE THE LATEST ENGLISH SIDE TO GET THRASHED BY EUROPE'S ELITE
Barcelona seem satisfied with seven here. Newcastle just look shellshocked.
It looks like a third English team is crashing out. Between them, Newcastle, Chelsea and Manchester City have conceded 21 goals across their two legs.
Arsenal's comfortable win over Bayer Leverkusen is looking pretty good now, but they could face this Barcelona side in the semis.

EX-BRENTFORD AND ARSENAL GOALKEEPER SZCZESNY COMES ON FOR INJURED GARCIA
Pedri splits the Newcastle defence with a wonderfully weighted pass to Lamine Yamal but Aaron Ramsdale comes out to save.
Harvey Barnes then goes up the other end, but his long-range shot lacks conviction.
Joan Garcia is now down holding his calf, so it looks like Wojciech Szczesny is about to come on.
Arsenal, Roma, Juventus, Barcelona. Not a bad CV.
Oh, and he spent a season on loan at Brentford. You learn something new everyday.

HODDLE: 'YOU CAN'T GO THROUGH IF YOU'RE GOING TO GIVE GOALS AWAY LIKE THAT
Glenn Hoddle speaking to TNT Sports on Raphinha's goal: "There are so many goals the English teams have just given away. At this level, you just get found out.
"The English teams have really struggled in and around their own penalty area. You just can’t go through if you’re going to give goals away like that."

GOAL! BARCELONA 7-2 NEWCASTLE (RAPHINHA)
Oh dear.
Newcastle are knocking it round the back, and Jacob Ramsey slips in his attempted pass, which is skewed towards his own box.
It falls right at the feet of Raphinha, who takes the ball and curls home.
Another slip for an English team in Spain...

HODDLE: 'FANTASTIC FINISHING, ABSOLUTELY TOP, TOP NOTCH'
Glenn Hoddle speaking to TNT Sports on Lewandowski's goal: "Another great goal and you see the experience of the striker here. He dummies the goalkeeper, he goes to hit it and knows exactly what he's doing.
"Once he’s been played in beautifully, you think, ‘When is he going to hit it?’ No, he goes to dummy it and makes the goalkeeper hesitate. He’s such an experienced finisher.
"Yamal again, absolutely brilliant, turns and runs, he’s been excellent. He just slides him in beautifully. Fantastic finishing, absolutely top, top notch."

On come Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Xavi Espart. Not a bad bench, that.

JOELINTON ESCAPES SECOND YELLOW THEN GETS IMMEDIATELY HOOKED
Joelinton takes out his frustrations on Lewandowski and catches his foot with his studs. He's fortunate to get away with that, having been booked in the first half.
That's the Brazilian's last moment of the match though, as he his replaced by Sven Botman as Eddie Howe seeks damage limitation.
Jacob Murphy also replaces Anthony Elanga.

GOAL! BARCELONA 6-2 NEWCASTLE (LEWANDOWSKI)
It's six!
Lamine Yamal's fake turn does Dan Burn, and slides the ball past Malick Thiaw to Robert Lewandowski who is in.
He does a slight dummy to fool Aaron Ramsdale, before smashing in the finish to put Barça on the brink of the quarter-final.

WILLOCK BOOKED: WILL MISS NEXT MATCH
The Barca fans are in full voice now. Newcastle landed a few blows in the first half but they have been steamrollered in the first 15 minutes of this second period.
Joe Willock gets booked and will miss the next match, but it doesn't look like Newcastle are getting there.
Some more stats from Opta for you:
- Fermín López has the most goal involvements for Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League this season (10 – 6 goals, 4 assists), which is now the most by a Spanish player for the club in a single edition, overtaking Xavi in 2008-09 (9).
- In their 152nd match in all European competition, Newcastle have conceded five goals for the very first time.

It looks over now!
Immediately after Sandro Tonali departs, Raphinha whips in an inswinging corner to the far post.
Robert Lewandowski outjumps Tino Livramento and powers a header past Aaron Ramsdale.
He doesn't miss from there and Newcastle look dead and buried now.

BARCELONA DOMINATING THE OPENING STAGES OF THE SECOND HALF
Fermin Lopez puts an early ball in, but it is easily cleared. In trademark Barça fashion, they play keep-away with the Newcastle press for the opening few minutes.
Eventually Raphinha finds half a yard inside the box but Ramsdale palms his shot clear. Lamine Yamal then tries to tee one up for Raphinha but it is headed clear.
He then tries to volley Robert Lewandowski's cross goalwards but connects poorly and Ramsdale gathers to give Newcastle a breather.
