TOP TWO 'WOULD BE AMAZING' - TIELEMANS
Tielemans was asked about the prospect of Villa finishing in the top two of the League Phase table too, with his side currently joint-top on 15 points alongside Lyon and Midtjylland.
"Where we are now is very good. We have two more games to go, very tough games away to Fenerbahce and at home to Salzburg," he told TNT Sports.
"It’s going to be very difficult, but we want to win both games and see where we are at. The first two spots would be amazing, but if not, then the others and hopefully qualify."
Assessing a tight win over Basel, he said: "Very pleased. It’s a tough place to come to play. The pitch was not the best and I think you could see it in our game; it wasn’t as fluent as what we can be.
"We could have done better in certain phases of the game but to come home and with a win is really good."

TIELEMANS - 'THE SPACE WAS THERE'
Youri Tielemans has been talking through his match-winning strike with TNT Sports. Here's what he had to say about what was going through his mind as the ball fell to him.
"Nothing really, just try and hit it on target. The space was there for me to shoot it at the first post," Tielemans said.
"So try to place it, keep it as low as possible for the goalkeeper. In the first half, the first goal they conceded as well it was on that side, so I thought if I put it on that side as well it may help because he had a bit of an injury I saw. Everything together."
Asked about why Villa are scoring so many goals from outside the box, he said: "I’m not sure. Maybe teams are dropping deeper sometimes and to have that space at the edge of the box.
"I quite like that. Some other players have a good shot as well, so we have to carry on and score many goals from outside and inside the box."

"BEST TIME TO BE A VILLA FAN"
More from former Aston Villa midfielder Hitzlsperger in the TNT Sports studio now.
"When [Unai Emery] arrived at Villa he said he wanted to play in Europe every season," said Hitzlsperger.
"He's on the best course to get them back in the Champions League. That way, if you do that year-after-year, it becomes normality and players won't complain about having to play two games a week.
"This is massive as a Villa fan. It's the best time to be a Villa fan. I really enjoy it, not just the results, but the way they play. It's really exciting to watch and look at the players, every year they get better and better."

NOT BAD
They sit three points off top in the Premier League, while in the Europa League only goal difference separates them from table-toppers Lyon.

THOMAS HITZLSPERGER TO TNT SPORTS
"Youri Tielemans made the difference. his passing, the goal he scored, it lifted the team to another level.
"They had already been the better team by a small margin, I would argue, but when Tielemans came on, he lifted them to the next level."

ROTATED VILLA KEEP ON WINNING
Eight changes, eight wins.
This had the feel of a potential trap match for Aston Villa. They were on a high from stunning Premier League leaders Arsenal on Saturday, but only three players retained their starting spot in Switzerland.
The heavy rotation made for a less fluid performance than some of Villa's recent showings and the teams went in level at the break after Evann Guessand’s scrappy finish was cancelled out by a Flavius Daniliuc volley.
Youri Tielemans turned the tide of the game, entering the fray at half-time and scoring a wonderful winner just seven minutes later.
Villa had to hold on a bit late on as Basel pushed for a leveller, Morgan Rogers unknowingly saving the day by deflecting a header over the bar in stoppage time, but a gutsy European win keeps them in the top eight while giving some of the big-name players a bit of rest during a trying fixture schedule.
An excellent night's work all round for Unai Emery and his charges.

BASEL CHANCE!
Basel win a free-kick on the left-hand edge of the Villa box. Schmid whips in a cross and Salah gets up well to head it goalwards, but it cannons off Rogers' head and goes over!
The England international knew nothing about that but saved what looked like an equaliser.

TWO MORE VILLA BOOKINGS
A couple of minutes after Konsa was booked, captain McGinn joins him with a yellow for a clumsy challenge on Schmid.
Villa are hanging on a bit here as Ajeti's header drifts over the bar from the resultant free-kick.

BIZOT BOOKED FOR TIME WASTING
And becomes the least popular man in Basel. Some objects, including plastic bottles, are getting thrown on the pitch from the stands as frustrations boil over a bit.

AS IT STANDS...
This would be the match-winning goal. And a worthy one too. But Villa still have some work to do to get this one over the line. The home crowd are getting more and more frustrated as the minutes tick down.

INTO THE FINAL 15
It's still hanging in the balance here. Villa look relatively comfortable and have improved in the second half, helped by the introduction of some of their big-name players.
But Basel have threatened on several occasions and all they need is one more sniff to take an important point from this one...
