Robert Lewandowski to leave La Liga champions Barcelona at the end of the season - 'The most incredible chapter'

Legendary striker Robert Lewandowski will leave Barcelona at the end of the season and will play his last game at Camp Nou against Real Betis on Sunday.

Lewandowski joined the Catalan club in 2022 after prolific spells in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
During his four years with Barcelona, he played 191 times in all competitions, scoring 119 goals and providing 24 assists, leaving as the team’s 14th-highest goalscorer of all time.
The Pole won seven trophies with the club, including three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
"After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on," he said in a post on Instagram. "I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. Four seasons, three championships.
"I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on earth.
"Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years. A special thank you to president [Joan] Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career. Barca is back where it belongs."
Barcelona paid tribute to Lewandowski on social media, writing: "Came as a star. Leaves as legend.
"Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every battle, and every magic moment wearing these colours. Culer forever."
In a statement, the club added that he leaves as "one of the defining figures of recent years."
Lewandowski proved a key veteran figure in a time of transition for the club.
With many young stars coming through their prominent academy - such as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi and Marc Bernal - the striker added experience to Barcelona's team.
And combined with manager Hansi Flick, Lewandowski has led the attacking line with aplomb, allowing Yamal and Raphinha to thrive in Flick's attacking system.
He scored a total of 33 goals in 46 matches in his debut campaign with Barcelona, claiming the league's top scorer award with 23 goals.

It got even better afterwards though, bagging 42 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions two years later. He currently has 18 this campaign at the time of his announcement.
The only trophy missing from Lewandowski's time in Barcelona is the UEFA Champions League, with the club knocked out in the semi-finals, twice in the quarter-finals and once in the group stage during his four years in Spain.
Lewandowski arrived at Barcelona with a tremendous record in front of goal. At Bayern, he scored 344 goals in 375 appearances in all competitions, putting him second on the club's all-time scoring list, behind only Gerd Muller.
