Como have reached a verbal agreement to sign defender Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea. Fabrizio Romano wrote on X on Monday that an agreement was in place for Chalobah to move for a fixed fee of €30 million (£25.7m), with €6m (£5.1m) add-ons and a sell-on clause.

It is reported that Chalobah wanted a move to Italy and to play in the UEFA Champions League.
Como qualified for that competition for the first time with a fourth-placed finish in Serie A last season.
Chalobah has been with Chelsea since 2018 and has had a number of loan spells in that time, at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, Lorient and Crystal Palace.
The 27-year-old is also an England international and made his FIFA World Cup debut in their recent bronze match win over France.

Barcelona keen on Rodri

Barcelona are planning to hijack Rodri's rumoured move to Real Madrid, according to Foot Mercato.
It seems that Real are not in a particular hurry to conclude the deal right now, especially with the player recovering from back surgery and unable to train for a number of weeks.
Barca, meanwhile, have received a major pre-season blow with news that midfielder Frenkie de Jong has suffered a medial collateral ligament tear and could be out for up to five months.
That may well leave the Catalan giants short of top-level quality in the centre of the park, a hole Rodri would clearly fill with distinction.
Rodri has been with City since 2019, helping the Manchester team to a host of major successes including UEFA Champions League glory in 2023.

Diomande misses Leipzig training

Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande is widely reported to have set his heart on a move to Real Madrid.
And BILD reports on Monday that the player has withdrawn from RB Leipzig's training camp in Austria.
Leipzig's sporting director, Marcel Schafer said: "We spoke to him on the phone on Sunday and are in contact. It’s clear that if he’s feeling better, he’ll have to come here.”
The 19-year-old is highly rated by a number of Europe's biggest clubs and he did his reputation plenty of good at the World Cup.

Roma lead Forest in race to sign defender Read

Roma are now leading the race, ahead of Nottingham Forest, to sign Feyenoord youngster Givairo Read, according to TEAMtalk's Graeme Bailey.
It has also been reported that Everton are interested in signing the 20-year-old defender.
But Bailey, posting on X on Monday, said: "Sources have confirmed Roma’s ability to offer Champions League football has proved a major factor in convincing Read that the Italian capital is the right next step in his career."
Read, who has been with Feyenoord since 2023, was a consistently high performer in the Dutch league last season.
Roma finished third in Serie A last term, meaning they can look forward to Champions League football when the group stage kicks off next month - live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.
