What will Everton’s new ground be called?

Everton are working to secure a naming rights partner for their new home. However, at present, it is known simply as Everton Stadium.

Where will Everton Stadium be?

Everton Stadium is being constructed in north Liverpool on the site of Bramley-Moore Dock.

In turn, it will be just under 2.4 kilometres from the city centre and around 3.2km west of Goodison Park.

What will Everton Stadium’s capacity be?

Everton are currently working to a capacity of 52,888, though the exact figure is yet to be confirmed by the club.

That number would place it as the seventh-biggest ground in the Premier League, just ahead of Newcastle United's St James' Park.

Sections of the stadium will also incorporate safe standing. In turn, should the government sanction a legislation change on the ratio of one person standing to one seat, the capacity could be increased further.

Everton re-developed Goodison Park on several occasions since first playing there in 1892. The most recent major development, back in August 1994, gave it an all-seater capacity of 39,572.

When will Everton Stadium officially open?

Everton’s new stadium will host its first competitive league fixture in August 2025, but it has already held a test event.

The club's under-18s contested a friendly against Wigan Athletic in front of 10,000 lucky fans at the stadium on February 17.

In a shocking turn of events for The Toffees, the first goalscorer at their new stadium was Wigan academy product and boyhood Liverpool fan Harrison Rimmer.

The young Toffees went on to lose the game 2-1.

Will Everton Stadium be used for any other events?

Outside of Everton’s home league fixtures and a selection of Women’s Super League games, the stadium will be among the 10 host venues for Euro 2028.

It has also been shortlisted for a rugby league event, in the form of the 2025 Ashes. There will be an opportunity to host outdoor concerts and other major sporting events.

How much did Everton Stadium cost?

Costs for the development of Everton's new ground spiralled from an initial £500 million to more than £800m.

Such details were disclosed in Premier League documents relating to the club's appeal over last season's 10-point deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules.

What will happen to Goodison Park?

A 'Farewell to Goodison Festival' has been planned by the club, which will include live music along with events featuring first-team squad members past and present.

Then, once the Premier League season has concluded, the stadium will be demolished and the site redeveloped.
