TARKOWSKI NETS INCREDIBLE LATE LEVELLER TO NICK DRAW AS TEMPERS FLARE AT FULL-TIME, LIVERPOOL MISS CHANCE TO MOVE NINE CLEAR
James Tarkowski struck a sensational stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a 2-2 draw for Everton in the last ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, while Abdoulaye Doucoure, Curtis Jones and Reds boss Arne Slot were sent off after a chaotic post-match melee.
The Toffees got off to a flyer when Beto coolly fired home a well-worked free-kick involving Jarrad Branthwaite on 11 minutes.
The visitors replied five minutes later when Alexis Mac Allister flicked a superb header home from Mohamed Salah’s right-wing cross.
Everton edged the second period but it was Salah who looked to have won it for Liverpool when he slammed home a rebound 17 minutes from time.
The Toffees seemed to have run out of fight but stunned the leaders in the eighth minute of added time when Tarkowski rifled a magnificent volley into the top corner at the far post.

The result means The Reds miss the chance to surge nine points ahead of second-placed Arsenal, but stretch their unbeaten league run to 20 matches.
Everton move up to 15th and are now 10 points clear of the drop zone.
Next up, Everton visit Crystal Palace on Saturday evening while Liverpool host Wolves on Sunday.

EVERTON’S GOAL HERO JAMES TARKOWSKI CHATS TO TNT SPORTS PITCHSIDE AT GOODISON
"Early on I got a chance at the edge of the box and I panicked and missed it.
"Then I just got myself into the box and let it go and see what happens (for his late, late equaliser).
"A few months ago I tried volleying the ball with Jags (Phil Jagielka) at our place and I didn’t score a goal for about half an hour, so amazing to score and what an amazing night.
"I don't score many, so thought it would be typical if it was disallowed (after a lengthy VAR check), but a really nice moment. It was a tough weekend (after his errors v Bournemouth), so nice to get one back."
He added: "Just listen to that (noise from the crowd).
"Just proud of my team tonight. A tough game, we stuck at it and then got the goal at the end."

THE FINAL GOODISON PARK DERBY ENDS WITH HONOURS EVEN
Given that nine of the previous 12 league meetings at Everton had finished all square, it was perhaps inevitable that this final chapter in the famous old ground’s history would also end even.
It leaves the overall H2H between the two sides at Goodison tied at 41 wins apiece, with The Blues set to play at their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock from next season.
It means that Liverpool fail to open up a nine-point lead at the top, giving added hope to Arsenal in second spot.
The Reds extend their advantage to seven points but it will feel like a missed opportunity.

THE TNT SPORTS EXPERTS ON SALAH'S GOAL
Rio Ferdinand "A wonderful goalscorer, he’s got an assist and a goal today. He hasn’t really done much in the game, hasn’t had much of the ball, but he’s the man to affect the game in the biggest moments."
Ally McCoist: "That’s why he’s one of the best. That’s what great players do."
