Mikel Arteta’s side have been praised for their prowess from set pieces this season and it was their winner against Burnley which saw them jump into the history books.

Kai Havertz headed in Bukayo Saka’s corner to tie the record of scoring a set-piece goal in 19 different Premier League games in a 38-game season.

Meanwhile, Saka’s assist made him the second-youngest player to register 50+ goals and 50+ assists in Premier League history.

He achieved the feat at 24 years and 255 days old. Wayne Rooney leads the way in that particular chart, having reached the milestones at 24 years and 84 days old.

Arsenal now have a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League with one game remaining against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Manager Mikel Arteta told the BBC at full-time that his team "played some of the best football that we have played this season" during the first half of what ended up being a nervy win against The Clarets.

"The margin should have been bigger but we haven't achieved that, and we have shown what we have shown all season, that when we need to defend and get through the game, we can do it in an efficient way," Arteta added.

"We were unlucky that we did not score the second or third goal. We faced a tough opponent. Look at the spirit that they had still today to try to get something out of the game. This league is so tough.

"I'm very happy tonight. We have done our job, what is in our hands. We have to wait and see what is going to happen tomorrow [between City and Bournemouth], and then it's time to prepare for the Palace game.

"I will watch tomorrow. Tomorrow we start to prepare for Palace and we will watch it for sure. One more to go."

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard added: "It's been an amazing season so far. We have one big one left here and then the Champions League final.

"We want to take the trophies home. Just a little bit to go now and we are going to give it our all. We have to keep going.

"I can promise you all that we give everything we have every single day, and we are going to keep going until the very end. With your support we are going to be ready.

"The fans have been amazing, especially these last two home games arriving at the stadium and seeing everything outside. The atmosphere inside here is amazing. Let's get ready for the last two."
