Arsenal 1-0 Burnley result - Kai Havertz's heads Mikel Arteta's team to within touching distance of Premier League title

Arsenal inched closer to the Premier League title after a narrow 1-0 victory over relegated Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.

Kai Havertz's first-half header proved the difference as The Gunners moved five points clear of second-placeD Manchester City, who play Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Mikel Arteta's side dominated the first half, with Leandro Trossard going close to scoring when he struck the post with his 20-yard drive.

The breakthrough eventually arrived in the 37th minute, when Havertz rose in the area to head home Bukayo Saka's corner.

Havertz was fortunate to stay on the pitch following his rash sliding challenge on Lesley Ugochukwu in the 69th minute but the initial decision to show him a yellow card was upheld following a VAR review.

Nevertheless, their precarious one-goal lead was eventually enough to get them over the line, and just one more win from glory.

Of course, the Premier League-Champions League double is still on for Arsenal.
