Arsenal 5-0 Leeds United result - Viktor Gyokeres scores twice, but Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka go off injured in emphatic win

Arsenal made a superb start to this season's Premier League campaign at Emirates Stadium after ultimately outclassing Leeds United - but the mood was dampened by injury concerns.

Viktor Gyokeres scored his first two goals for The Gunners - including one from the penalty spot - while Jurrien Timber also netted twice in a convincing victory in north London.

Daniel Farke's side held firm for the first 34 minutes, before the floodgates opened with Timber's header.

The Gunners' incredible knack of scoring from set-pieces continued, as the Dutchman expertly nodded home from Declan Rice's corner.

Bukayo Saka added a second in first-half stoppage time, latching onto Timber's perfectly-weighted through ball before rifling a ferocious angled finish past Lucas Perri.

Then, the moment which Arsenal fans had eagerly been awaiting arrived, as Gyokeres netted his first goal for the club with a superb individual effort three minutes after the restart.

There was time for Timber to get his second from another Rice corner just shy of the mark, before Gyokeres rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot in added time.

A fine day was capped off by the Premier League debut of 15-year-old Max Dowman, who showcased his obvious talent and won the penalty which led to Arsenal's fifth goal.

The only blemishes on an otherwise fine day for Mikel Arteta's side concerned the injuries to Martin Odegaard and Saka.

Odegaard was forced off with an apparent shoulder injury, while a pulled hamstring looked to have ended Saka's evening.

A commanding win for The Gunners, who underlined their title credentials here after dispatching Daniel Farke's newly-promoted side.

Gyokeres gets his second and Arsenal's fifth, emphatically dispatching the spot-kick after sending Perri the wrong way.

Dowman goes down in the box under the challenge of Stach, and Arsenal can make the scoreline even more emphatic here.
