Fulham 1-2 Crystal Palace - Premier League result as England international Marc Guehi heads home late winner to send Eagles into the top four

Marc Guehi's late header for Crystal Palace sank Fulham as The Eagles moved into the top four of the Premier League.

The hosts initially put Palace under pressure, but could not create a chance of note in the opening 20 minutes.

But Palace broke the deadlock with a good team goal, as Adam Wharton found Eddie Nketiah in the penalty area, who finished off a slick passing move with a pinpoint finish.

However, that goal was easily topped by Fulham's equaliser 10 minutes later, as Harry Wilson played a one-two with Raul Jimenez off the outside of his boot, before curling the shot into the far corner - again with the outside of his foot.

After the break, Fulham thought they had taken the lead when Emile Smith-Rowe smashed home after Alex Iwobi hit the bar, but it was ruled out following a VAR check as Samuel Chukwueze was found to be offside in the buildup.

From then on, Palace grew into the match and threatened on the left but substitute Christantus Uche could not make the most of Tyrick Mitchell's excellent crossing.

With three minutes to spare, the pressure finally gave way. Yeremy Pino whipped in a corner which Guehi guided home from close range to send the away fans into raptures.

Palace move into the front of a very congested pack of teams chasing that fourth spot in the Champions League race, while Fulham remain 15th, still closer than they'd like to be to the drop zone.

Marc Guehi speaking to Sky Sports: "It's good. The most important thing is just to keep going.

"It was tough. They created many, many chances so it was important that we stayed in the game.

On his winning goal: "It's credit to the whole team. When everyone does the job it's easy. It was just important for me to get a touch on it which I did.

On the upcoming festive fixture schedule: "It's tough but it's what we get paid to do. We want to play as many games as possible, but we just need to recover and go again. We've got no choice to be honest."

Palace counter, but Uche cannot find the final pass for a simple tap-in!

Kevin overshoots a pass. That should be that.

And there is the whistle! Crystal Palace move into the top four of the Premier League!

Fulham win a free kick. Should have kept Wilson on. After a couple passes, Cairney puts it in the box.

Andersen then recycles the ball and Henderson is fortunate nobody is there to punish his missed punch.

Two minutes left.

You have got to feel for Fulham. They have been the better side for large parts of the match but Palace have hit them with the sucker punch.

Tom Cairney and Adama Traore come on for Iwobi and Wilson.

Six minutes of added time.

Canvot skips forward on the right, but Kevin comes sliding back to sniff out the chance.

Wilson then goes for a spectacular goal from range, but it is straight at Henderson.

Fulham have won 13 of their 17 points this season at Craven Cottage. They look set for one more.

Palace are set to move up to fifth, above (checks notes) Everton?!

When did they get so high up the table? Three points separate fifth and 12th at the moment.

More changes. Palace bring on Jaydee Canvot for Clyne, while Sasa Lukic and Josh King are on for Sander Berge and Chukwueze.

It has been a while since either keeper has been tested.

Half-chance for Wilson and Fulham, as he drives into the box, but his touch is too heavy and Henderson gathers.

Uche bursts through on goal, but the flag is up. He doesn't notice and makes a meal of trying to round Leno for no reason.

Both sides are lacking that cutting edge in the final third.

Kevin is coming on for Fulham. He replaces Smith-Rowe, who was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet today.

Mitchell then puts in another lethal ball into the box, but Uche cannot get a touch on it as it flashes across the six yard box!

Substitutions time. Both Mateta and Nketia come off for Jefferson Lerma and Christantus Uche. Is that Palace shutting up shop?

Kamada moves back forward into the front three, with Pino now in the central role.

Wilson whips the ball in but Palace head the ball clear. Now Palace counter, but Mitchell runs into trouble.

Mitchell then whips the ball in and Pino misses his first shot. He gets a second opportunity but Leno is out quickly to smother the effort.

Better.

Will that click Palace into gear? They have been slow out of the blocks this half thus far.

The home fans can sense it too, as they roar their side on. Jimenez chases a long ball but it's out for a goal kick.

The Mexican is limping after that though. Looks like a whack on the foot.

Fulham take the lead!

Iwobi rises highest to meet Chukwueze's cross but his header smashes the crossbar.

Smith-Rowe is first to react, and taps into the net with Henderson out of position.

But there is a VAR check... and Chukwueze was marginally offside.

Chance for Palace! Mateta slips past Bassey but pulls his shot wide under pressure. Not clear-cut, but a striker of his prowess should hit the target.

Chukwueze does well to win a throw-in under pressure from two Palace defenders.

The Cottagers once again start the half brightly. Tete cuts in after evading a couple challenges but skies his shot.

This match looks destined to be a 2-2 draw. I'm sure both teams would be moderately happy with a point, and neither have done enough to win it so far.
