Manchester United 1-2 Leeds United result – Noah Okafor double eases Daniel Farke's relegation fears as Lisandro Martinez sees red for hair pull

A tremendous performance from Leeds United saw them deservedly win at Old Trafford for the first time since 1981, Noah Okafor's early double sending them six points clear of the relegation zone with just six games to go,

Manchester United had not played in 24 days and it showed - they were sluggish and disorganised just as Leeds were aggressive and grooved, and fully deserved to fall two goals behind, Okafor notching after five and 29 minutes.

The home side did improve a little thereafter but, on 56 minutes, Lisandro Martinez was sent off having pulled Dominic Calvert-Lewin's hair. They did, though, halve the deficit, Casemiro heading home a Bruno Fernandes cross, but struggled to create enough to level, Benjamin Sesko having a header saved and Calvert-Lewin clearing off the line from Leny Yoro.

Results over the weekend mean that this result is not a disaster for Michael Carrick's side, who remain third in the table and seven points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea - who they face at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

As for Leeds, they are six points and three places above the relegation zone; I can't see how they go down, given the points they have but also how well they can play.

A win here would've made them very hard to stop in the race for the top five and they should still be OK, but the manner of the performance in the first half should be a concern. A win for Leeds and they're six points clear of the relegation zone with six to play; it's hard to see them going down if they hang on.

...and Calvert-Lewin heads off the line! Superb defending! But the ball bobbles about and for a second, it looks like Ugarte will swivel and score, but his shot is blocked, then Leeds go up the other end, where Bogle is booked for diving.

And the cross comes into Sesko, beautoifully curled by Mbeumo, he's up ... and Darlow saves! Great work from all concerned.

He's been poor tonight, and I wonder if hes a player who needs time to get into stride - he was equally so in his first few games for United.

Cunha runs on to it, cheating down to himself, but the touch takes him wide and his screwed shot is saved by Darlow easily enough.

Mbeumo runs in behind down the right, takes a second touch that he probably doesn't need, and Bijol slides in to make a terrific tackle.

He's alone in the box having moved off Yoro, but can't impart the necessary pace on his header, allowing Lammens to save on the line.
