Tottenham Hotspur 0-3 Nottingham Forest result - Visitors move out of Premier League bottom three as Morgan Gibbs-White comes back to haunt Spurs

Vitor Pereira picked up his first Premier League win as Nottingham Forest head coach as his side moved clear of the bottom three with a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

All the pre-match attention was on Spurs as their fans rallied behind their team and interim boss Igor Tudor for the crunch relegation showdown.

Despite dominating the first half Spurs were toothless in front of goal with Igor Jesus’ header onto his own post the closest the hosts came to an opener.

The Brazilian striker then stunned the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in first half stoppage time by heading home Neco Williams’ curled cross.

Spurs needed an immediate response and almost had it before the break but Mathys Tel’s effort cannoned off the crossbar.

As Tottenham became more frustrated they lost concentration and Callum Hudson-Odoi found the unmarked Morgan Gibbs-White, who was close to moving to north London last summer before signing a new contract with Forest, to score a second.

Forest completed the win with a third goal with three minutes remaining as Williams picked out substitute Taiwo Awoniyi to complete the win.

Forest moved three points clear of the bottom three and Spurs remain a point outside the relegation zone.

It makes miserable viewing for Spurs fans.

Nottingham Forest were tactically brilliant this afternoon in a tricky tie against Tottenham. The opening goal stunned the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the visitors then stifled the game.

Spurs were unable to break Forest down and then lost concentration as Gibbs-White strolled in for a second and Taiwo Awoniyi completed a miserable afternoon for the hosts at the death.

The Forest goalkeeper first denies a well-hit Solanke effort. From the resulting corner Solanke meets the ball but is also denied by the goalkeeper.

Sels’ long ball forward is shielded by Gibbs-White into the path of Williams. The Forest winger sends in a peach of a cross for Awoniyi to slide home.

The Forest man tries his luck from 30 yards out and straight at the goalkeeper. It’s a comfortable one for Vicario to take.

Gallagher is given some time to build his match fitness and replaces Gray

The Spurs full-back clips the back of his opponent’s heels and is the next player in the referee’s notebook.

Hutchinson has had a good game out wide for Forest and makes way for Ndoye

Spurs need to pull one back urgently. A corner into the box is headed away to Sarr whose low effort takes a wicked deflection off Sangare and just wide.

The deflection completely beat goalkeeper Sels who could only watch as it flew wide of his far post.

Both of the half-time substitutes combine. Udogie creates space out wide and then whips the ball into the six-yard box where stretching Bergvall can only steer it off-target.

It’s good news for both Tottenham and Nottingham Forest fans. Ollie Watkins has netted a second goal for Villa which will put West Ham into the bottom three.
