Arsenal have won the competition a record number of times (14), with United hot on their tails with 13 trophy victories. Manchester City will face League Two's Salford City, who are owned by a collection of Manchester United legends.

Record 14-time FA Cup winners Arsenal will get their campaign underway against holders Manchester United in the third round at Emirates Stadium.

United beat Manchester City to win their 13th FA Cup last season, and face a tough start against Mikel Arteta's side.

It will be new boss Ruben Amorim's first outing in the competition. He has started his United tenure with two wins and a draw since succeeding Erik ten Hag in November.

Arsenal and United face off in a Premier League clash in north London on Wednesday, meaning the rivalry fixture will be played twice in the space of six weeks.

Meanwhile, Manchester City host Salford City, who are owned by a group of United legends including Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.

League Two Salford - who were acquired by the group of former United stars in 2014 - are in the third round of the competition for the first time.

Elsewhere, non-league outfit Tamworth - one of just two teams below the English Football League to remain in the competition - face Tottenham Hotspur in front of their home crowd.

Tamworth are 16th in the National League, and staved off former Premier League side Huddersfield Town in the opening round before beating League One outfit Burton Albion to secure their passage to round three.

Ange Postecoglou will be looking to guide Spurs to their first FA Cup trophy in over 30 years, as they begin their run against the lowest-ranked side remaining in the draw.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will host League Two strugglers Morecambe, as Enzo Maresca takes charge of his first Blues campaign in the historic competition.

Chelsea reached the semi-final stage last season, where an 84th-minute Bernardo Silva goal sent City through to the final, which they eventually lost to rivals United.

And Maresca's side will prove a staunch test for The Shrimps, who sit bottom of the fourth-tier standings.

Premier League and UEFA Champions League leaders Liverpool will welcome Accrington Stanley to Anfield as Arne Slot gets his first taste of FA Cup action.

Accrington sit a lowly 19th in the League Two table, and face a tough test against Slot's side - who have lost just one match across all competitions this season, while holding a perfect record against Europe's elite.

Bromley, also in League Two, will head to St James' Park for a huge test against Newcastle United.

Elsewhere, Harrogate Town will be heading to Leeds United in a local derby, while non-league outfit Dagenham & Redbridge face a trip to Millwall.

The third-round ties will be played over the weekend of January 10-13.
