Charlton 1-5 Chelsea result - Blues cruise to victory in Liam Rosenior's first match in charge in all-London FA Cup clash

Liam Rosenior's first game in charge of Chelsea ended with a comprehensive victory at Charlton in the Emirates FA Cup third round.

The Blues dominated from the first whistle but had to wait until injury time in the first half before going in front, when Jorrel Hato rocketed a left-footed half volley inside the near top corner.

The lead was soon doubled after the break from Tosin Adarabioyo's close-range header and even when Miles Leaburn fired home for the hosts, their hope would only last five minutes before Marc Guiu added another.

Substitutes Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez, from the penalty spot, added gloss to the scoreline in second-half injury time, which was a little harsh on the hosts, but the new Blues boss will have been delighted by the performance after making eight changes from the side who lost to Fulham in midweek.

Rosenior becomes the first Chelsea manager to win his first game since Antonio Conte - six managers ago - in 2018.

The Charlton defender limps off and is replaced.

Estevao's effort deflected into his path and the World Cup winner shot low on target but Mannion blocked with his feet.
