Barcelona are advancing talks with Newcastle United over the summer signing of Anthony Gordon, as they look to beat Bayern Munich and Liverpool to his signature and bolster Hansi Flick's wide options.

A report from AS claims that the 25-year-old is keen on the move and could end Marcus Rashford's hopes of joining Barca permanently following his successful season-long loan from Manchester United.
The report reads: "Flick finds him [Gordon] an interesting player due to his versatility, work rate, dribbling ability, and a physique that allows him to sustain high-intensity efforts. He also possesses a knack for scoring goals.
"According to Fabrizio Romano, direct talks are already underway with Newcastle to negotiate a transfer fee. Barca are not alone in the race for the Englishman, who is also being pursued by Bayern Munich (who are annoyed with Barca over their supposed interest in [Harry] Kane) and Liverpool, weakened on the right flank by [Mohamed] Salah's departure.
"Gordon's approval of his move to Barca could lower the cost of a transfer that could directly impact Marcus Rashford's future. The player, on loan from United this season, wants to stay, and Flick has given his approval. Gordon, however, could represent an upgrade to the Barca squad for 2026-27 and could leave the Englishman out of the equation.
"With the economy slowly recovering, and with La Liga's approval, Barca is preparing a major investment this summer that could reach €150 million [£130m]. Gordon would be one of the pieces to complete the attack. A luxury replacement for Raphinha and Lamine [Yamal] on the wings. The masterpiece, the replacement for Lewandowski, would still be missing. The dream... Julian [Alvarez]."

Iraola to choose between Palace and Milan this week
Former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola will decide his next move by Saturday at the latest.
A report from SportMediaset journalist Claudio Raimondi claims that it will be a decision between either Crystal Palace or AC Milan.
Oliver Glasner will leave Selhurst Park after the UEFA Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday evening - live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.
Meanwhile, The Rossoneri are looking for a new coach after parting company with Massimiliano Allegri following a hugely disappointing campaign which saw the club miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification.
The report via Football Italia read: "Milan have been leading the pursuit for some time, with Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic having already held two face-to-face meetings with the Basque coach in London.
"A two or three-year contract has been prepared, and the club’s ambitions are significantly greater than those of the English side.
"However, Crystal Palace now enter the picture in earnest, with Oliver Glasner’s final match in charge coming tonight in the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig.
"According to the report, via MilanNews.it, Iraola will give Palace the opportunity to formally present their proposal before comparing it directly with Milan’s offer and making his final decision."

'Astonishing' first half continues as Porro gives Spurs hope

Manchester City want Porro
Manchester City are ready to swoop in for Pedro Porro, with Tottenham Hotspur struggling to tie the defender down to a new contract.
The 26-year-old's deal in north London runs until June 2028, and was one of the club's most consistent performers in a season which almost resulted in relegation.
City are eager to exploit that uncertainty surrounding the Spaniard's future, as they aim to bolster their options at right-back.
A report from AS reads: "Both the player and Tottenham are aware of City's interest. The London club isn't giving up and doesn't want to lose one of the most important players in the squad. But at this point, a significant effort will be required.
"However, Spurs have already set a starting price: £50 million. Any club wanting to sign him this summer would have to pay just over €57 million.
"Porro was once a City player, but he never played for them. In fact, it was the English club that sold him to Sporting. His value in the Premier League is high. The player is on Spain's World Cup squad list, and his backup, [Djed] Spence, is on England's list ahead of, for example, [Trent] Alexander-Arnold, the English right-back for Real Madrid.
"City, under the guidance of Hugo Viana, the club's sporting director, who knows him perfectly from their time together in Portugal, has already made its position clear. The transfer window has just opened, and Porro is a target."

PSG and Barcelona targeting Canvot
According to a report in L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are both keeping tabs on Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot.
The France under-21 international has enjoyed an impressive first season at Selhurst Park after arriving from Toulouse last summer.
He has featured 37 times across all competitions this season, and is preparing to face Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League final.
The report via Get Football News France reads: "He is attracting the interest of another Spanish side, Barcelona, L’Equipe understands. They could yet face competition from PSG, who have been following Canvot since he left Toulouse. The defender’s performances this season have only reinforced the European champions’ interest in the Frenchman, although their interest is not yet concrete.
"The Frenchman’s deal at Crystal Palace runs until 2029, and given that Marc Guehi left in January and that Canvot’s compatriot, Maxence Lacroix, is touted to leave this summer, the Premier League side will be desperate not to lose more bodies in defence."
