Barcelona will try to bring Chelsea striker Joao Pedro to the Camp Nou after being priced out of the race to sign Argentina international Julian Alvarez, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The La Liga giants had been linked with a move for Alvarez for several months, with the Atletico Madrid star producing 20 goals and nine assists across all competitions this term.
However, in the past few days, Spanish transfer expert Roberto Gomez revealed that Barca cannot afford the 26-year-old now that UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain are interested in securing his signature.
Mundo Deportivo believe that the La Liga champions will turn to Pedro, 24, in a bid to bolster their attacking options.
"Joao Pedro already knows that he is currently Barcelona's No. 1 option to reinforce the centre-forward position after Robert Lewandowski's departure was confirmed this weekend," reads the article.
"The Catalan club initially set their sights on Julian Alvarez.
"However, as Mundo Deportivo reported last week, Paris Saint-Germain's entry into the race for the Argentine cooled Barca's chances, leading them to turn to Joao Pedro to gauge his willingness to wear the Blaugrana colours, anticipating that signing Julian would prove impossible."

Silva targets Madrid move
Bernardo Silva has reportedly set his sights on a sensational move to Real Madrid when his contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the season.
Silva has helped Pep Guardiola’s side win the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup this season, producing three goals and five assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.
However, at 31-years-old, some people believe that the Portugal international is entering the twilight of his career.
Spanish outlet AS say that Silva still believes he has what it takes to compete for the highest honours with Los Blancos.
"The Portuguese player's contract with Manchester City has ended, and, by mutual agreement, they decided and announced that their partnership had come to a close," read the article.
"Bernardo Silva believes his body and mind remain prepared for the demands of top-level competition, and his goal is to continue at the highest level.
"Therefore, he has considered the possibility of joining Real Madrid's squad for the 2026/27 season."

Benfica join race for Silva
Benfica believe they can tempt Fulham manager Marco Silva to the club to replace Real Madrid-bound Jose Mourinho, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.
Silva has enjoyed an impressive five years with the west London club, helping re-establish them in the Premier League, where they are 13th ahead of the final round of games.

The 27-year-old missed El Clasico earlier this month as a result of the clash, admitting in a statement that the pair had engaged in two heated arguments in the space of two days.

Valverde stressed that his injury was self-inflicted rather than the result of a fight with Tchouameni, but Mundo Deportivo say that he could still call time on his Real Madrid career.
"Fede Valverde was set to be one of Real Madrid's leaders after the departure of players like Modric and Kroos," reads the article.
"The Uruguayan accepted the challenge, and is the team's second captain. Well, now, the first after [Dani] Carvajal's departure.
"However, the club could strip him of the armband, as Onda Cero explained.
"According to certain sources, those in the upper echelons are not ruling out his departure this coming summer."
