Guardiola’s current deal with Manchester City is set to expire in June 2027, but La Gazzetta Dello Sport insist his respect for Italian football could be enough to convince him to leave the Premier League giants and help revitalise Gli Azzurri.
Italy have not qualified for the knockout stages of a FIFA World Cup since their fourth triumph at the tournament in 2006, but they did win the UEFA European Championship in 2021, beating England in the final.
Gazzetta have called on the Italian Football Federation to start courting Guardiola as soon as the Premier League campaign draws to a close.
”The candidates for the federal elections will be announced on May 13th, Guardiola could have the FA Cup final on the 16th, and the Premier League will close on the 24th,” read the article.
”From there, any day is a good day to start canvassing him.
”There's no doubt that Pep will be happy to listen, and then all that's left to do is hope that his considerations on the offer will fill our football with hope.”

Kane factor in Bayern's Gordon pursuit

Bayern Munich are set to put Anthony Gordon on their transfer shortlist for this summer, according to Bild’s head of football, Christian Falk.
The Newcastle United winger is attracting plenty of attention from big clubs across Europe.
But it could be that Gordon heads to Bayern, and it may be with a little help from his fellow Englishman, Harry Kane.
"It is true. Anthony Gordon is highly-rated on Bayern’s shortlist. Now, there will be talks about money, so it’s very concrete," Falk said.

”Gordon signalled that he could make a move to the Bundesliga, so I think perhaps this is partly Harry Kane’s doing. Normally, English national players rarely come to the German top flight.
”That all said, the transfer fee Newcastle end up demanding for the winger could harm Bayern’s hopes of signing Anthony Gordon.
"There were many rumours of an €80m [£69.3m] fee. The Times now suggest it’s actually closer to €75m [£65m]. I think this would be too expensive for Bayern Munich.”

Liverpool and PSG in for Diomande

RB Leipzig’s teenage star Yan Diomande is reportedly being targeted by Premier League giants Liverpool and UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.
However, German outlet Bild believe that the Bundesliga side would like the Ivory Coast international to stay at the club for another season.
Bild insist RB Leipzig are yet to receive any concrete offers for the 19-year-old at this stage.
”According to BILD, meetings have taken place with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, both of whom are particularly interested,” read the article.
”RB Leipzig itself, however, has not yet received a concrete offer. Leipzig wants to keep Diomande (contract until 2030) for at least another season – barring an exorbitant offer.
”Internally, however, fewer and fewer believe this will happen.”

Spurs reach agreement with Senesi

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement in principle with Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi for him to join the Londoners on a free transfer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The 28-year-old will make the switch to Spurs, if they stay in the Premier League.
Plettenberg wrote on X: "Marcos Senesi and Tottenham have reached an agreement in principle.
"The 28 y/o top centre-back has given his commitment to join Spurs on a free transfer in the summer, if Tottenham stay in the Premier League. It is now up to Tottenham. Nothing signed yet."
Sanesi, who has been with Bournemouth since 2022, has made three appearances for Argentina.
Spurs will continue their relegation battle when they visit Wolves on Saturday.
