Inter Miami have no intention of signing Lewandowski

MLS side Inter Miami have no intention of attempting to sign Robert Lewandowski, according to reports in Spain.

The 37-year-old Poland legend has been plying his trade at Barcelona since 2022, scoring 77 league goals in 115 appearances and winning two La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey.

His contract comes to an end at the conclusion of this season, and he is unlikely to be short of offers. It is expected that clubs in Saudi Arabia will make offers, but he could yet stay at Barcelona.

According to the report, the reason largely stems around wanting to renew the contract of Luis Suarez, which Fabrizio Romano claims is close.

Lewandowski’s future may still be in the MLS though, with Chicago Fire emerging as the favourites to sign him, according to the BBC.

Forest among contenders for De Vrij

Nottingham Forest have emerged as one of the contenders to sign Netherlands defender Stefan De Vrij, according to reports in Italy.

The 33-year-old has played only seven times this season for Inter, which has put his inclusion in the Netherlands squad for next summer’s FIFA World Cup in jeopardy.

Capped 77 times by his country, De Vrij, who made his debut in 2012, is desperate to make the tournament and with Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman only selecting those who are consistently playing, it has forced him to evaluate his options.

According to Tuttosport, Nottingham Forest have joined the race to sign De Vrij, whose contract at Inter expires in June, with the search for a reliable centre-back high on Sean Dyche’s shopping list.

Forest and Dyche will have to be persuasive to secure the Dutchman’s services, with Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad rumoured to have been long-term admirers. There is interest in Italy, too, from Serie A side Bologna, as well as from Portuguese giants Benfica.

The report from Tuttosport says: "His contract expires in June, and discussions regarding a possible renewal are currently on hold (a departure is likely).

"Furthermore, the No. 6 has seen very little action so far, despite [Francesco] Acerbi's injury problems, with the former Lazio player only playing 181 minutes in the first 15 Serie A matches and only one in the last nine games.

"His lack of use also risks making him miss the World Cup, as Dutch coach Koeman wants to focus on players who play consistently.

"This is why Stefan could, sensationally, evaluate other options in the upcoming transfer window.

"Saudi Arabia (Al Ittihad) have been trying for years, meanwhile, both in Italy (Bologna) and in the Premier League (Nottingham Forest), some clubs are looking for a solid and reliable centre-back in January - keep an eye on Benfica, too, who conducted initial enquiries in recent days."

Crystal Palace join race to sign €80 million Rayan

Crystal Palace are the latest club to make contact with Vasco da Gama for Brazilian wonderkid Rayan, according to reports in Brazil.

The 19-year-old has scored 20 goals in 55 matches in all competitions this season, as well as scoring two goals for Brazil U20 in the U20 South American Championship.

According to ESPN Brasil, the young forward is now being targeted by several European clubs, including Palace and FC Porto.

The report claims that a move to the Premier League is more likely because of the influence of super-agent Pini Zahavi.

It says: "The English club's idea is to start negotiations now with the Cruz-Maltino prospect, but with the final plan to seal a possible transfer only in June 2026, that is, in the European summer transfer window."

Rayan renewed his contract with Vasco last week until December 2028. The new deal contained a release clause of €80 million.

Boca 'dream' of signing Dybala

Boca Juniors are desperate to secure the services of iconic Argentine Paulo Dybala, transfer guru Romano reports.

Dybala, who was part of the World Cup winning squad in 2022, has been playing in Italy since he left his home country to join Palermo in 2012.

Since then, he has played 358 Serie A matches for Palermo, Juventus and Roma, scoring 130 goals and assisting 75 times.

This season, though, the Roma forward has seen his minutes limited due to two hamstring injuries.

Dybala, who can operate either as a No. 10 or as a striker, turned 32 last month and will see his contract in the Italian capital expire at the end of this season.

That gives him options, with a whole host of potential suitors likely, including Argentine giants Boca Juniors, who are believed to be very keen on Dybala.

Romano has said there are no talks in place over a January move but that a deal could happen this summer.

He said: "Boca Juniors dream of Paulo Dybala as target for 2026 but no talks are taking place at this stage over January move.

"Dybala’s priority is to stay at Roma this season then assess his future ahead of summer 2026 with contract due to expire."
