Liverpool face Barcelona and Real Madrid battle for Marc Guehi ahead of January transfer window - Paper Round

Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid could all try to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in January, while Tottenham and Arsenal could battle it out for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. Elsewhere, Aston Villa are set to bid for Gremio forward Alysson, and Emmanuel Emegha will stay at Strasbourg for the rest of the season despite Liam Delap's injury.

Real consider swoop for Palace star Guehi
The Mirror claims that Real Madrid could make a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in January.
A recent injury to Real central defender Eder Militao could spur the Spaniards to recruit in the winter transfer window.
The paper states: "England centre-back Marc Guehi has emerged as a target for Real Madrid and the Spanish club could be forced into action sooner than planned. Guehi is out of contract at Crystal Palace in the summer, but an injury to Eder Militao may force Madrid to test the water in January.
"The injury could keep Miltao on the sidelines until March. With pressure building domestically and in Europe, the club could decide to bring forward their pursuit of Guehi even if it comes at a financial cost.
"Madrid agreed a small fee with Liverpool to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in time for the Club World Cup rather than waiting until his contract expired. Palace could be harder to negotiate with, though, given the captain's value to the Eagles and the fact that several months of the season remain.
"Liverpool and Barcelona are among the other clubs to be linked with a Guehi swoop. Liverpool were on the verge of a summer move for the ex-Chelsea defender, only for Palace to pull the plug at the eleventh hour."
Tottenham may face fight for Semenyo
Tottenham are concerned they may lose out to Arsenal in the race for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo.
The 25-year-old Ghana international is a target for a host of Premier League sides and has a £65 million release clause.
The Sun explains: "Tottenham face a fight to convince Antoine Semenyo to join them from Bournemouth.
"Ghana star Semenyo, 25, has a £65million release clause in his contract which would allow him to leave before January 10.
"Spurs are one of a clutch of clubs showing major interest in the winger, who has six goals and three assists in the Premier League already this season.
"But SunSport understands Semenyo would be hesitant to join the North Londoners, just as he was in the summer when Tottenham were keen to buy him then.
"Spurs will be especially wary of Arsenal swooping for the attacker, having lost out on Eberechi Eze to their rivals in the summer despite appearing to be on the verge of signing him."
Villa keen on Gremio winger Alysson
The Athletic believes that Aston Villa are interested in signing 19-year-old Brazilian winger Alysson from Gremio.
The club are set to make an offer for the youngster, with Villa keen to reduce the average age of the squad.
The website reports: "Aston Villa are exploring a deal for Gremio forward Alysson. Provided the terms are right, Unai Emery’s side are expected to make an offer for the 19-year-old right-winger, who fits the profile of the attacker they want, having already registered strong interest.
"The Athletic reported in December that Villa scouts had visited Brazil, with a recognition that the squad has to reduce in age.
"The West Midlands side are also eager to bolster their wide options to replace Leon Bailey, who departed for Roma in the summer on a season-long loan.
"As well as potentially signing a winger, Villa are keen to recruit a centre-forward to provide depth behind Ollie Watkins. However, this is dependent on market conditions in January and whether they can identify a striker who can be of worth to Emery and within their financial parameters."
Chelsea will not sign Emegha early to cover for Delap
Liam Delap’s injury will not force Chelsea to move to bring in Emmanuel Emegha from sister club Strasbourg.
The Telegraph reports Chelsea will also not turn to Raheem Sterling for cover, with the veteran likely to depart in January.
The paper writes: "There is some optimism around Delap that he may not be out as long as the early predictions, with Maresca confirming he has not suffered a fracture to his shoulder. Chelsea will not consider trying to bring forward Emmanuel Emegha’s summer move from sister club Strasbourg to cover for his loss.
"Nicolas Jackson already refused to terminate his loan to Bayern Munich once, at the end of the summer window, and will not be given the chance to do so again. So [Chelsea manager Enzo] Maresca has Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto, Tyrique George and Marc Guiu, who was recalled from Sunderland, to choose from for the foreseeable future.
"It seems highly unlikely that Sterling will ever enter Maresca’s thinking, even though the head coach said ‘anything can happen’ and Chelsea insist that no doors have been shut on him. The only door that realistically might be open to Sterling appears to be a January exit."
