Premier League interest in Vinicius

Several Premier League clubs are monitoring Vinicius Junior’s strained relationship with Spanish giants Real Madrid after it emerged the winger is currently unlikely to sign a contract extension, the Mirror reports.

Vinicius' current deal expires in 2027 and, following a fallout with Xabi Alonso, that could prompt the club into selling the Brazilian next summer.

The Mirror adds: "Should Vinicius angle to leave the club, a clutch of Premier League clubs will no doubt sit up and notice. Liverpool have been linked with a move for the winger in the past, while Manchester United have also been credited with a historical interest.

"Vinicius has so far scored 111 goals for the Spanish side - five of those having come so far this season. Real Madrid are back in action on Wednesday as they take on Greek side Olympiacos ahead of a La Liga showdown with Girona."

Spurs will not panic over Frank

Tottenham Hotspur will not panic despite growing frustrations with Thomas Frank’s decision-making and tactics, the Telegraph reports.

Spurs lost 4-1 at rivals Arsenal on Sunday, slipping to ninth in the Premier League table as a result. Spurs head coach Frank has come under scrutiny for the number of changes he makes, but the Dane will be given time to turn things around.

The Telegraph adds: "Frank apologised to Tottenham fans following the surrender at north London rivals Arsenal. Sources around Spurs have told Telegraph Sport they believe Frank’s numerous changes have contributed to inconsistency and the team’s lack of attacking potency.

"Some players are thought to be keen for Frank to focus more on the strengths of his own team, rather than the opposition, although it is unclear how strong and widespread that feeling is.

"The Lewis family, the club’s owners, have been clear in their messaging that they are targeting long-term sporting success under Frank and that is understood to remain the case, which suggests no short-term decisions are on the horizon."

Liverpool’s Guehi obstacle

Liverpool will have to pay big to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in January, with Real Madrid and Barcelona among the European teams eager to sign the defender for free in the summer, the Mirror reports.

A faltering title defence has left Liverpool in need of defensive reinforcements, but the club could be priced out of a move for Guehi after his deadline-day move collapsed in the last transfer window.

The Mirror adds: "Liverpool failed with a deadline-day move to sign him for £35m in the summer and he is clearly on their radar as they look to plug the defensive gaps. Incredibly, they have conceded 20 goals in 12 games and have a minus-two goal difference.

"But while they were a whisker away from getting a deal done less than three months ago, they now face the added competition from foreign clubs. Guehi's overseas suitors - including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan - are able to speak to him from January 1 and he can sign a pre-contract before the end of the campaign.

"Free agents can often earn more and Real Madrid and Barcelona also know that Guehi has an Ivorian passport which means he also counts as an EU player in Spain."
