Guimaraes wants Newcastle exit

The Newcastle United midfielder is looking to secure a move to Premier League champions Arsenal, according to a report in The Athletic.
The 28-year-old Brazilian international is now released from World Cup duty, and has told his current club that he would like to make a move away from St James' Park.
The website writes: "Bruno Guimaraes has told Newcastle United he wants to join Arsenal.
"The Premier League champions are stepping up their pursuit and have indicated a willingness to pay up to £60m for the Brazil midfielder."

United reignite interest in Dortmund's Ryerson

Julian Ryerson’s standout performances for Norway at the World Cup have prompted Manchester United to revive their interest in the Borussia Dortmund full-back.
Ryerson has been pivotal in guiding Norway to the quarter-finals, where they will face England.
While Dortmund are eager to tie the defender down to a new long-term contract following a stellar 15-assist season, initial talks have taken place and it is understood the Bundesliga side would consider a sale if their €30 million (£25.6m) valuation is met.
The Mirror explains: ”Manchester United are ready to reignite their interest in Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson - whose performances at the World Cup have put him back on their radar.
”The Norwegian has been a key figure in their run to the last eight, where they will now face England.
”That comes after an impressive season with Dortmund, who don't want to lose him and are keen to discuss a new deal.
”Despite that, Bild understands that the Bundesliga outfit would consider his sale if they received a bid in the region of €30 million (£25.6m) for a player who provided 15 assists last season with initial talks taking place.”

Arsenal to secure free agent Meslier

Arsenal have wrapped up a surprise deal to sign French goalkeeper Illan Meslier following the expiration of his contract with Leeds United.
The 26-year-old left Elland Road on a free transfer at the end of June after dropping down the pecking order last season.
Meslier is scheduled to undergo his medical before signing a contract at the Emirates, where he is anticipated to slot in as Mikel Arteta’s third-choice goalkeeper behind David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Sun details: ”Arsenal are set to sign goalkeeper Illan Meslier after his contract with Leeds expired.
”The Frenchman, 26, became a free agent at the end of last month and has been on the hunt for a new club ahead of the new Premier League season.
”Arsenal have swooped and Meslier is due to undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a deal at the Emirates.
”The shot-stopper is expected to come in and be the No. 3 option for the Gunners behind David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga.”

City set to hijack Arsenal starlet Nduka

Manchester City are poised to deal another heavy blow to Arsenal's youth academy by securing the signature of 16-year-old midfielder Mishel Nduka.
The highly rated prospect, who joined from Charlton in 2025 and broke into the Londoners’ under-21 set-up last season, is set to relocate to Manchester.
It follows a testing period for Arsenal's youth ranks, with Kyran Thompson bound for Tottenham and Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga also opting for a move to the Etihad despite strong interest from North London.
The Daily Mail states: ”Arsenal academy prospect Mishel Nduka is set to sign for Manchester City in the latest blow to hit the club’s youth set-up.
”As Daily Mail Sport reported last week, Kyran Thompson is set to join Spurs.
”While Leicester wonderkid Jeremy Monga, who the Gunners were frontrunners for, is heading to Man City. Nduka joined the Arsenal academy in September 2025 after eight years at Charlton.
”The skillful midfielder, who turned 16 in April, made the Under 21 squad twice last season and also featured in a UEFA Youth League Under 19 match against Club Bruges in December.”
